The Central Line in Mumbai consists of 3 major corridors, which bifurcate as they run into suburban satellite towns. Two corridors (one local and other through) follow the Central Railway run from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to Kalyan (54 km), from where it bifurcates into two lines – one to Kasara (67 km) in the north-east and the other to Khopoli (61 km) in the south-east. These two corridors constitute the main Central Line. There is also an 18-km corridor between Kurla and Thane stations for use of outstation and cargo trains. The outstation corridor is being extended further from Thane to Kalyan now as a part of the main line, but is halted because of the costs of tunneling the parsik hills.

Chembur is day by day becoming the new center on Mumbai. The railway station has frequent connections with CSMT and Panvel, there are less frequent trains for Andheri also available from here. The eastern freeway and mumbai monorail connects chembur with Old Town or south bombay in 20 minutes.SCLR connects chembur to western suburb of santacruz in 20 minutes. The local market is situated very much near to the railway sation and most facilities are available within 200 meters.Monrail station is at walking distance.

Chembur Corrupt Reservation Ticket Booking Counter.I went to Book ticket Tatkal ticket on 23rd May 2018 with my wife at 9.30 am there were already 4 to 5 Beggar kind of women in a Tatkal Ladies Queau before us i think the these Begger like women were proffesionals hired by some ticket booking agent to block the line on daily basis.I am very sure they have some setting with ticket booking guys and RPF police only a person who is suposed to travel can book a Tatkal ticket by showing a mandatory Identity proof while booking a tatkal ticket but i was very surprised how they are able to book tatkal ticket everyday by blocking the Queau everyday even though they are not a Traveller or Passenger ???Because of this we and most of the other passenger did not got the ticket because all tatkal ticket got full just in 10 minutes. This is Happening everyday in Chembur Reservetion ticket Tatkal Counter everyday.Railway Authority Please take quick Action on this Begger like Bookie womens and who ever is involved in such corruption.

Chembur is a railway station on the Harbour Line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network. It lies near Chembur Market. It has one train in the morning starting from this station. It has two platforms which serves North and South bound railway line. The Kurla - Chembur single line was built in 1906 for garbage trains. It was opened to passenger traffic in the year 1924.[3] The Kurla-Mankhurd section which also contained Chembur was electrified in 1950 and suburban steam services were run on one track from 1951.[4]
