Ltt is a big station and classy n well profiled also. Here, a lot of attention is being given to cleanliness and try to also being done so that passengers do not face any problem to boarding during pendemic. But to reach here, the taxi fare from any station is very high. You will also get the second one option locals, bus n auto, But it is not available everywhere. And the person who is running the race for the first time will be troubled by all this and will be out of pocket. I have felt it. So mumbai is really2 too much costly city.

Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (also known by its former name Kurla Terminus, station code: LTT), is a railhead and a major railway terminus in the Kurla suburb of Mumbai, India. LTT is managed by the Central Railway. The Kurla and Tilak Nagar suburban railway stations are located nearby. It is one of five the railway termini within Mumbai, the others being Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Dadar on the Central line, and Mumbai Central and Bandra Terminus on the Western line.In 1996, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) approved a proposal to rename the Kurla Terminus station after Lokmanya Tilak, a popular leader of the Indian independence movement, and forwarded it to the Union Government through the Government of Maharashtra.[2] Then Union Home Minister, Lal Krishna Advani approved the proposal in 1999, at the request of Ram Naik, the then Minister of State of Railway.[3] After the decision was announced, Gurudas Kamat, the Lok Sabha member from Mumbai North-East, met L. K. Advani and submitted a memorandum asking that the terminus be renamed after Babasaheb Ambedkar.[4]In 2003, Central Railway (CR) decided to expand LTT to take on more rail traffic, as the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) had reached its saturation point, and was unable to handle any more express trains.[5] In 2006, the Mumbai division of CR cleared the designs for construction of a swanky station complex to replace the dilapidated terminus complex.[6] The new station complex design was prepared by the architect P. K. Das. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) also agreed to construct a ramp from LTT to the flyover to be built nearby, as part of the Santa Cruz–Chembur Link Road (SCLR).[6] The revamped LTT was inaugurated on 16 April 2013 by Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal. The revamp of the terminus took 3 years. The new station complex was built on 50,000 sq metre land and has a 3,300 sq metre concourse.

Well LTT has always been my boarding point for any outstation trains. Its very convenient since the SCLR came and it takes much lesser time now.Ample of parking available which js a really good thing.Well there is a lot of crowd so its better to be always cautious about your belongings. Also the only sad part is the ATVM machines are just kept idle half the times and they dont work. Its a nuisance because if you want to book a platform ticket well keep a buffer of 20-30 mins, else use the UTS app.

Its a good railway station which is maintained but the service of the servicemen isnt great. The counters are often left empty and the customers/travellers are made to stand in queue for simple queries because out of the 9 counters hardly 1 or 2 are attended. It attracts a huge number of people but the waiting room is quite small compared to that which leads to people waiting waiting on the platform which creates unnecessary rush when a train arrives. The platforms are humongous and there arent any helpers to provide help to travellers like on other railway stations.Theres no pickup and drop points for cabs and therefore it has to stop near other normal taxis whose drivers are terrible and create a scene to other private cab drivers.

Last visited this place in Feb 2020. The infrastructure built by central railway is top class. But passengers must be aware of scammers roaming around this station. Youll be approached by many agents who will claim that they can give you Confirmed seat even if train is full from AGENT QUOTA, there is no such quota, so ignore them & book tickets from counters only. Another people are local taxi, auto rickshaw drivers; never go with them. Go for Uber or Ola or BEST bus or there is Tilak Nagar Railway Station just 10mins walking from where you can get local train & go anywhere in City using. Take extra care about your kids & belongings here as there are many notorious people here.
