-Food Review: Yu Long RestaurantChinese cuisine is among the best cuisines in the world because of its rich food culture. It is very common in Chinese society that people usually treat others with delicate meals to make new friends and enhance their relationships. Chinese are primarily rice and meat lovers. China is a diverse country and its many regions have different favorite dishes. Fried rice, noodles, dumplings, tofu, hotpot, and Peking duck are some of the main dishes in China..I was invited for a Meet Eat & Write - MEW by F&F session by Foodies & Friends at Yu Long. The first thing that clicks in my mind after listening to the name is that it must be an authentic Chinese restaurant. Yu Long is located in DHA Phase 5 hidden from the crowded commercial area..Yu Long is a pleasant place situated at the end of the street. It had an adequate parking space and an eye-catchy exterior. The first thing that I noticed from the floor to ceiling glass window was that it had ground floor and 1st floor. As I walked into the restaurant I was asked to stop by the guard he checked my temperature and sanitized my hand. I was greeted warmly by the female staff member and she directed me towards the table..The first thing that I noticed after stepping into the restaurant was the bright and beautiful lighting. For me, restaurant lighting plays a part in setting the mood. The ambiance was pleasing complementing the black, grey, and white theme of the interior. A fish aquarium was placed next to the counter with three or four fishes in it..One side of the wall had an artistic painting surrounded by several hangings of a lady who is the chef/owner of the restaurant. Elegant round wooden tables with a round rotating tempered glass were laid very well with comfortable modish chairs. The overall ambiance was giving a simple yet artistic feel to the place. Staff was following all the SOP’s defined by the government..As soon as I was seated a staff member came with a teapot and pour Chinese tea in a Chinese Tea Cup which was a small cup without a handle, in China these sorts of cups are used for the consumption of tea. Chinese tea was like a normal green tea the only difference was that we drink tea after our meal but in Chinese culture, the first thing that a restaurant serves is Chinese tea or Green tea..All the utensils were placed in front of everyone accompanied by chopsticks. I don’t have enough knowledge about chopsticks but all I can tell is that the chopsticks were a little different as the ends of chopsticks were square or maybe round and chopsticks I have seen in other restaurants were have sharp ends..So coming to the food we ordered:.Hot & Sour Soup Rs.800Hot & Sour soup is just one of my favorite things in the world. As the weather was pleasant outside so, I am not sure there is a more welcoming dish then this big bowl of soup. It looked rich and thick but as soon as I tasted it all my excitement dissipates instantly. It had an unpleasant sourness totally unlike any hot & sour soup I have ever had. An unexplained kind of smell was there in the soup it tasted stale. It was a surprise for me that a place that claims to serve authentic Chinese food didn’t even know how to balance the ingredients in a soup..Salted Prawns Rs.2480Prawns are my number one priority in the seafood section of any restaurant. Salted prawns were served in a foil sheet prawns were crispy golden garnished with scallions and sesame seeds. I couldn’t resist more because of my love for prawns and the perfect golden color that the prawns had. As soon as I took a crunchy bite of prawn my taste buds didn’t respond there was no signal that my brain received. It was not salty as it was supposed to be and it was a bit extra crunchy as well as chewy. Do I sound disappointed? YES, I WAS DISAPPOINTED.

They serve authentic, very nice Chinese food, Really loved it.

The real Chinese taste, not like typical Pakistani desi Chinese fusion everywhere. Nice ambiance & clean place, very good food and spicy. Excellent service. Best Thai soup in town, tasted after ages in Lahore. Beef chilli & steam fish was best. Beef hotpot was special too. Chicken chilli dry was my favourite appetiser. If you like sweet taste in your Chinese menu, this is not the place for you. It is very authentic Chinese for real taste. Option of desi Chinese available but not recommended. Separate dinner rooms available for 4 or more guests.

Authentic Chinese food especially from Northeastern Shandong province. Service is ok as the staff is a bit forgetful to bring what you actually asked... But the taste of food and quality of room is nice

I got the food an hour later than i was told i would get it.The dumpling were completely destroyed by the time i got then. Completely disgusting.Edit after response: ill be in touch
