Had the pleasure of eating great authentic Japanese cuisine prepared by experienced Japanese chef cum owner.I read about Makotoya in a local magazine and decided to take my wife for her birthday dinner. What a revelation! There was an extensive and varied choice on the menu which created great anticipation. That anticipation was well rewarded when the food arrived. We took our time and ordered each course after finishing the previous one. Each time the food arrived after not too long a wait. As is expected with Japanese cuisine each dish was beautifully presented. The taste was wonderful and we definitely made some new memories. As the cafe was quiet our server was very attentive, polite and friendly and the environment captured the simplistic ordered beauty that is so characteristic of Japan.A great discovery, almost on our doorstep, and we will definitely be returning.WE ORDERED:Starters:Karaage Chicken - Japanese style fried chickenTuna Croquette - Filled with Tuna, Onions and several Japanese spices served with homemade mayo.Main Course:Chicken Omu Rice- Japanese omelette covered with steamed rice topped with tomato sauce.Chicken Katsu Curry - Fried breadcrumb coated chicken with Japanese styled grave served with rice.Dessert:Matcha Crepe - Matcha tea crepe with whipped cream and Anko Paste.Total Damage: Rs. 5775/-
Japanese Organic Cafe with complete Keeto Menu. Nice simple unpretentious decor (as Japanese would). If they dim the lights a little you would feel like you are in a spa.For starters we had Beef Tataki and Seasonal Sashimi and both were good. For main we had roast beef, beef bowl, beef steak, peppered salad. Also ordered a chicken dish but I can’t remember the name. Steak was good but everything else was bland.Word of caution - the authentic Japanese taste may not be for everyone. Also if you are used to eating medium temp beef you should order medium well at this place. Also My biggest pet peeve is when the restaurants serve one dish at a time instead of serving the whole table at once and that’s what happened here. My daughter got her food even before the appetisers. My wife had finished her food before my steak arrived.
Its more on the expensive side but it offers authentic Japanese food. As a Pakistani, I did enjoy the ambiance and the presentation of food but I found the food too simple for my taste. Those of you who would like to go try something different, go ahead but its a place Id visit once in 1 or 2 years.
This is the best restaurant in pakistan at the moment. The sushi platter is amazing. They serve a diced tuna sushi which melts in your mouth like mini explosions of delicate flavor that talks to your soul and tell you everything is alright.
This place is absolutely delicious and my favorite restaurant in Pakistan right now. The chicken katsu curry is SO GOOD and so is the Sautéed Red Snapper. Absolutely phenomenal, premium, food. So good. Too good.
Authentic taste, simple setting , good quality of service and food .
