This is very beautiful sports stadium having international cricket and hockey grounds. One cricket world cup and one hockey world cup matches has been held in these grounds. There is also football ground and open air theatre. This is also tourist bus point and traditional food street here. PCB office is located in this stadium.
Well I’m from Lahore and I’ve visited this stadium a lot of times. I want denote this stadium is one of the best stadiums in Pakistan. PCB has arranged many series and PSL Matches here. Here, seats are available In very good condition. One problem that I found is the capacity of spectators. Lahore is having a population of almost 1.2 Million and the capacity of this stadium is 27k, which I think is not fair with the people, PCB must think of increasing the capacity here.
Best Stadium of the Pakistan. Situated at a great place and neat place. Nice location. Well built. Neat and clean. Pakistan Zindabad.
Everyone knows... Qaddafi is a good place... The best restaurants of Lahore are there... Especially Desi cuisine...Simply the best
Love of Lahore.I really enjoyed the match of pishawer lazmi and lahore qalander before corona. And lahore qalander was won the match ️️
Tremendous potential to use the commercial space around the stadium, but as usual, completely ill planned and disorganized. Needs a thorough overhaul of planning and designing of that fantastic commercial space professionally... Perhaps use a top ranked foreign design firm specializing in such ventures. Parking is a mess. So is the green space while the large intersection space is completely ignored, thus wasting precious real estate in the center of town
Huge stadium... really glad to see such a beatiful ground and stadium.... resides in beatiful environment and infrastructures... looking forward to see live match b/w pakistan and international teams... pakistan cricket team zindabad...
Originally Lahore Stadium, the ground was renamed in 1974 in honour of the former Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gaddafi following a speech he gave at the 2nd Organisation of the Islamic Conference meeting in Lahore in favour of Pakistans right to pursue nuclear weapons.[5] The stadium houses the headquarters of the Pakistan Cricket Board.[6]In 1995–96, the Gaddafi Stadium was renovated by architect Nayyar Ali Dada - who is qualified from National College of Arts Lahore - for the 1996 Cricket World Cup.[6] Dadas redesign was done in the Mughal style, with red, hand-laid brickwork and arches. Dada also had plastic seating installed in place of the existing concrete benches. The lower portion under the stands was enclosed and converted to shops for boutiques and offices. Gaddafi Stadium was the first in Pakistan to be equipped with modern floodlights having their own standby power generators.[7]On 23 October 2011, Pakistan Cricket Board discussed renaming the stadium following the death of Gaddafi, to support the new government in Libya. The Punjab Olympic Association made a similar request in late October 2011 to the provincial chief minister, I dont think his profile is inspirational enough to link with our cricket stadiums identity. As of April 2012, however, it does not appear that the stadiums name will be changed after all.[8]Gaddafi Stadium being the largest cricket stadium in Pakistan used to have capacity of 60,000 spectators, until the redesigning of its enclosures reduced the capacity to 27,000
Its a perfect place for national and international indoor and outdoor games and activities I just love this place.
Qaddafi stadium is one the best cricket stadium in Pakistan. It is located in the historical city, Lahore which is also provincial capital of the Punjab Province. The stadium is surrounded with the tasty and popular foods points of Lahore. You can find all variety of traditional Lahori foods. The Gaddafi Cricket Stadium is located in the historical city of Lahore. Designed by the eminent architect Nayyar Ali Dada, Gaddafi Stadium is inspired by Mughal architecture as is evident from the lovely brickwork that gives the stadium a unique look. The stadium is named after Colonel Gaddafi of Libya. Gaddafi Stadium hosted its first test match as early as in 1959, when Pakistan played against the touring Australians. It underwent renovations in order to host the 1996 World Cup final. It is the largest ground in Pakistan. In the new stadium the concrete benches are entirely replaced by plastic cover seats. The stadium holds the capacity of more than 60000 people. The 1996 Cricket World Cup was hosted by the Gaddaffi Stadium which was played between Australia and Sri Lanka. The ground was initially named the Lahore Stadium but was later on renamed to Gaddafi in 1974. The ground has been a good hunting ground for Pakistan and has some memorable milestones to its name. The Gaddafi stadium witnessed the record fifth-wicket stand of 281 between Javed Miandad and Asif Iqbal against New Zealand in 1976. Inzamams famous triple-ton also came at this very stadium and that too against the Kiwis. But in recent times, the stadium is criticised for having sparse crowds for one-days and Test matches.

Gaddafi stadium is famous for street outside the stadium. You can find pakistan cousine there. Open air environment add the value in the food taste. Specially recommended in good weather. Not recommended in hot season. Karahi and bar b are famous dishes. No issue with parking. Also some of the restaurants have live music on weekends. Some restaurants have play area as well. Nice family environment. Recommended to visit when you travel to Lahore.

Beautiful cricket ground in Lahore Pakistan. We watched world cup final in 1996 Sri Lanka vs Australia in this stadium. Previously it was know as Lahore stadium.
Went there to eat golgappas with friends. Thats it. They were good dow
The stadium isnt just a stadium. Its the heartbeat of a nation. When a cricket match happens, energy is just palpable! There is food and fun activities. Outside, there are numerous very nice restaurants. All worth a shot. Nearby, there are several other stadiums and an performing arts center. Must visit - even if there are no matches on!
Washrooms were very dirty. They should make proper washrooms.
Its one of largest stadium in Pakistan although it is good but need some maintenance
This review is about the restaurants on the outside of the stadium. Still a place to go grab some nice desi grub in Lahore. The kulfi definitely isnt the same that it once was. They have gone down in quality and taste. There are some hidden gems in every restaurants menu here.
With no international cricket for years yet is managed and organized well. Lush green grass and newly painted seating makes it even better. You can find different pictures from ground history to signed bats by all teams. They have seperate room where all the trophies are placed. Location is prime and the outside is mostly covered by restaurants.
Host to some of unforgettable games of cricket back in the good ol days.Giveb that theres no regular international cricket in the country as of yet, the facility is very well managed. During the games, the crowds are managed reasonably well. You can get food inside the stadium. Watching a game here is a splendid experience.
Its easy to locate. Located in the middle of Lahore city. Encircled with good restaurants and beautiful views of greens.

A stadium to host national and international cricket matches.
Great place in heart of Pakistan and I love to visit again and again
What a nice place, hickey, cricket ground swimming pool available food street but prices are high
My all coleagues i really enjoyed the moments
Gaddafi stadium is one of the largest stadium of Pakistan. Too much beautiful and full facilitates meet internationally. As location wise, this located almost in the center of city and a large amount of business around it. Too many multinational head offices, hotels, shopping markets. During the match all these close and face large amount of lose. I recommend never travel around the areas during match. Heavy traffic due to road blocks during match.
Sad to see a sports center has now become home to restaurants. I wish to see more sports activity here including cricket, football, hockey, then itll be a delight to see people enjoying sports + variety of food from their favorite restaurants in Qaddafi Stadium. And hopefully our security agencies dont shut down them during the sports events like it usually happened in the past...
Historical Gaddafi Stadium lahore is a landmark of city. Hosted many mega cricket events. PCB Headquarters is also here. Outside stadium many restaurants are available for the real lahori food.
Iconic cricket stadium of Pakistan. Now a days visited mostly for food Street
