One of the biggest and well equipped hospital and is in compete with Agha khan and Liaquat national. Mostly peoples relies due to strict treatment methods and rules regulations. Almost 700 beds available and mostly service personnel are being treated here. Played a vital role during covid 19 corona. U will find best treatment in such low prices and is totally free for service personnel. Located in DHA phase 2. Emergency is being dealt 24 hours 7 days a week. Opd serves in day timing only. All the doctors are much educated and experienced as compare to other hospitals .
This is one of the biggest hospital place if you talk about area. It is so much neat & clean. It is quite expensive for outsiders.
This is an good hospital in all regards. This is a naval hospital, but all the doctors are either from Pak Army in naval uniform or are entirely civilians. The doctors are committed to their job and concerned about their patients. The only problem comes from the staff and anaesthetists who are very rude and rough, including some specific nurses.
Very poor service and security staff un educated ...They dont know how to handle emergency petient
A very well established and state of the art hospital in Karachi which is providing excellent medical treatment to both civilians and Armed Forces Personnel. Highly qualified doctors and paramedics staff providing medical treatment/authentic tests and relevant services in a best way as compared to other hospitals in the city.
Best tertiary care hospital with all specialities
This hospital is laying under military and mostly experience doctor seated here and all Major department of health is here. After an appointment you enjoyed the best health services here. Although emergency is also here working 24/7 . This is a Iso standard hospital in karachi city.

The Best Hospital in Karachi. Everything is good .But Parking lot is too far and if you accompany a patient then its very difficult.
Rates are little high comparatively. Services and staff are good and cooperative
Best medical care and well trained staff with high qualified surgeons and physicians.
PNS Shifa is good hospital managed by Pakistan Navy. Very neat and clean environment, professional doctors and staff. A very good facility specially for public servants. This hospital is situated at a nice place and have sufficient parking space available to park vehicles. Security system is also best which is very necessary due to current situation of city.
Nice place very good services staff performance excellent
Neat and clean environment. Kind doctors. The BUMDC seniors present are kind too.The hospital can improve on the queue part for the patients. Process should be quick.
One of Favourite places
Good Healthcare
There staff is good
Connecting links from Defence town to the rest of Karachi, this place is offering the best quality of care since many years. The state of an art decoration and distribution of medical and surgical wards improved manyfolds from couple of years due to an honor of having tertiary care hospital of Pakistan Navy. Consultants are highly qualified with a reasonable fee access and maintenance of discipline is well marked. Nevertheless, improvement is required in every department in many aspects, but this serves best among many other tertiary care setups in comparison.
Good service for civilians, officers and private persons.. all the facilities are available.. humble and experienced staff..
This hospital is Pakistan Navy. Its build to provide free medical facilities to armed forces personnel & their families. Private patients can go there for treatment but its very expensive for them. All kind of medical facilities available there & their services are excellent.
Visited dental department for scaling for my son n myself. Highly non professional attitude . We were told to be attended on first come basis so we reached there at 545pm. Not a single person was around n lights were off. Finally 630 staff started arriving. Pts were getting in n out without any order. By 730 when I insisted we were attended only to be sent again to wait for an hr, to attend some drs relative in btw. What meant to be 15min turned into 45 min so we had to leave. The complaint box had NO PAPER n receptionists were highly non co operative .Navy hospital .....expected punctuality n professionalism atleast .
This hospital is a nightmare. The worst hospital you can visit. Untrained staff and doctors. Expensive for civilians and free for armed forces and their families. They have occupied road infront of the hospital and people are really facing difficulties for daily commute. If you want to go inside to pay a visit to a patient they treat you like low cast beggar.Civilians and middle class people are advised to stay away from this hospital.
The Pakistan Navy Ship Shifa or PNS Shifa is a technologically advanced[clarification needed]Naval medical treatment facility/hospital. Located on Defence Housing Scoiety in Karachi, Sindh Province, the hospital a major and integral role in the History of Karachi. The PNS Shifa was established in 1953 by the United States Navy Medical Officers when the United States Navy first visited the country. Its a great service to nation, specially karachites, people remaind very satisified with the services and facilities available here .
Good Treatment, Under managment of Pak Bahria
My mother got admitted in this poor excuse of a hospital. The doctors were great no doubt but the staff is really something.Ward 13 is the worst. The junior or trainee nurses are rude, lazy and senior staff members encourage their behaviour!!!It took them two hours and three reminders on my behalf so they could give me medication list and even after giving it, the trainee nurse was making a face a if she has done done kind of great feat.Pathetic service from staffs
Very big hospital but very costly
Masha Allah nice hospital
PNS shifa hospital located in Karachi managed by Pakistan Navy they are providing good health facility treatment for people of Karachi and Pakistan the staff is very good all facility are available in hospital
A naval hospital in the middle of defence area. The access to this hospital is difficult for outsiders and general public but quite easy for residents of the navy base. Its service and quality are mediocre in nature. My father in law was admitted in his final last days of illness and passed away at this hospital
Well established hospital where highly qualified doctors and paramedics providing medical treatment/authentic tests and relevant services in a better way
Its a wonderful place with well mannered and cooperative staff!! I have lived there for six years as my dad was Lt Commander there in Navy!! Cool...
One of the best hospital for all of us and providing many facilities
My experience over there was exceptionally satisfying. I was treated well and attended by staff whenever I required them. Bit expensive but worth it considering the situations that normally people confront in other money making hospitals
No rules dont see any punctuality
Good hospital for fedral goverment servars and families
I had a bad experience with a few of PNS Shifa’s medical staff during my daughter’s stay in hospital due to her suffering from abdominal pain. The nursing staff in general appeared to be very rude and uncaring. My daughter is bred and born in the UK and we were on holiday in Pakistan. In the ladies ward the nursing staff wouldn’t allow me to sit with my daughter; my wife was back in the UK. One of the matron was so rude that she practically forced me to get out of the ward. My daughter was traumatised and was deeply upset by the nursing staff and was crying. I took this matter to the duty doctor and he subsequently empathised with me. He summoned the concerned Matron and gave her a great telling off. Although you are a private patient, they make you run around like a dog to get the tests done here and there hence charge you lots of money. Luckily my daughter only stayed there for one day but she brought back lots of bad memories with her. Never never again in PNS Shifa. Mehboob Ahmed Moghul UK.
I have seen some improved machines today specially ultra sound machine, some doctors have no manners , bad attitude with patients , some are very good, i Request to Commanding Officer Please filter your STAFF PLEASE, ye insano ki zindagi ka sawal, my life partner was going to die because LADY DOCTOR ( ON DUTY IN NIGHT ) WAS SLEEPING. agar meri life partner ko kuchh ho jata to us doctor ko bhi life time sleeping de deta.
A medical institute, all the basic necessities of medical institute are available good for any type of patients.
Safe and secure place.
PNS SHIFA is a teaching hospital of BUMDC. Over the years, PNS SHIFAhas evolved into an institute of immense repute. All the departments including Emergency Department, specialized units of Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Urology, Pulmonology, Cardiology, and Radiology are equipped with state of the art technology. SHIFA is also playing an important role in the training of doctors for higher qualification like MCPS and FCPS. In this regards the standard and reputation of the professional teaching is so immense that civilian doctors prefer to come to SHIFA for the training despite the presence of other training institute like Civil Hospital, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) and Agha Khan Hospital. Also the College of Physician and Surgeons of Pakistan, which is the most elite professional medical institute of the country, holds PNS Shifa in high esteem, and FCPS-II students belonging to all specialities complete their attachments in the hospital. Recent affiliation with BUMDC as teaching hospital is yet another milestone to this institution.PNS SHIFA has already been recognized by PMDC for purpose of under-graduate medical education, as well. The MBBS classes have all ready started in the BUMDC. According to the master plan, the state of the art building of BUMDC will be constructed adjacent to PNS SHIFA in near future. In addition, PNS SHIFA is also a training centre for the nursing officers, nursing cadets and medical branch personnel.
It is a good hospital if you have a panel there. If you are a private patient, get ready for loads and loads of bills. The doctors sitting here are more over lab Investigations than clinical practices. Doctors still recommend tests like typhi dot which are obselete now (giving an impression that tests are meant to increase your bills). The staff at sample collection units are unprofessional, theyll take your sample without complete protocols, increasing the chance of infections. In a nutshell, if you are a private patient go to AKUH or other hospitals.
Military operated hospitals...if you have military background, they charge near to nothing. Hospital is clean. Expansion is going though.
Very good hospital, neat and clean.
Good naval hospital and Karachi need this type of hospital because of its population
The largest naval medical facility in the country and one of the biggest hospital in Karachi. Numerous specialists including cardiologist, neurologist, medical specialist, orthopedic surgeon, rehab, gynaecologist, psychologist, ENT, Peads, urologist, eye and many more available for patient care. Laboratory and diagnostic facilities available. Disciplined staff, neat and tidy rooms, clean bedding. Compared with private hospitals of equal stature, the cost is also reasonably low. Highly recommended
I went there for routine check up in OPD it was a clean hospital doctor was also better. the ENT doctor charged 1000 rupees for consultancy charges, which I think is expensive for and OPD Charges. but civilians Patients are not allowed in day time , Civilians can go there for check up after 6 30 PM. And original ID card is must for the entry. I am civilian so I also went there after 6 30 PM, one has to walk around 5 minutes more if you use public Auto or Careem, Careem is allowed inside only if the driver submit his ID Card in entrance check post but usually Careem drivers dont do that and they prefer to left you outside the main gate, so you have to walk 5 minutes to reach the OPD, there should be a shuttle service for patients as how can a patient walk for more 5 minutes to reach an OPD?but I was astonished to find that there was no water in washroom , so I wonder how patients use their washrooms? there was not water in wash basin and even in WC and other related parts of wash room, I told the concerned officers about that but they did not do any thing to provide water for washroom there
Good doctors but staff is rude, arrogant and pathetic.
I want to know if I can go there even when we are not in forces as my mom have knee pain and looking for orthopaedic, any advise guys?
Friendly staff, Neat and tidy beds and wardsOrthopedic surgeon Syed Waris Ali shah is much professional and famous
NICE.IT WAS VERY CLEAN THATS THE BEST POINT FOR ME .
The best Military Hospital in Karachi being run by Pakistan Navy
This is my home ... so clean and green... beautiful
Best Doctors ever and good facilities
This hospital does not appreciate civilian patients nor they want them to come there. Although cheap compared to other medical centers this hospital has been very strict and sometimes painful for patients as the entrance is so far away from the emergency or consultant clinics. The staff is mostly rude...pharmacy is outside of the hospital and you have to run there when the doctor asks for a medicine.
Cox I work.....
Great Pakistan navy shifa hospital
Its a great hospital, dealing with manners
Pakistan navi hospital good doctors and nice service
Above average
The place where I was born and went for treatments and checkups mostly. Great doctors and environment.
Very nice and well organized.. Less costly than other tertiary care hospitals in Karachi except JPMC but above standard than JPMC.....being an armed forces hospital ,it is also facilitating civilian population in evening opd timings
Great hospital, well managed and helpful staff.
I like PNS shifa , the doctors are v gud especially gynecologist (Dr.shehla Baqayi) , v sincere with her patients ...
Unnecessary strict checking at gate. No consideration for old and sick people
