Great place. Rich with history. Museum is well managed and is a great way to learn about Pakistans history. Has wax statues of founders of Pakistan and other important historical figures. It also contains wax figures that reflect the lives of people of subcontinent before the arrival of East Indian company and after the arrival of the company. Good place to spend time with the family and friends and a must visit place if you are visiting Islamabad.

Covering a total area of 2.8 hectares (6.9 acres), the design of the monument is rooted in the rich Mughal architecture of the Subcontinent. Its petal shaped structure is derived from the traditional muqarnas of Mughal architecture. As the architect says: We should learn from history but not remain in it. He used todays technology to modernize the historical form of the muqarnas. The resultant petal-shaped structure emphasizes the importance of unity and togetherness of the people of Pakistan. Rather than symbolizing the four provinces (as is mistakenly observed), it represents the four different cultures of the people of Pakistan. The four large petals represent each of the four cultures, the Punjabi, the Balochi, the Sindhi and the Pakhtun

The Pakistan Monument is a National Monument and Heritage Museum located on the Western Shakarparian Hills in Islamabad, Pakistan. The monument was constructed to symbolise the unity of the Pakistani People. Its elevation makes the monument visible from across the Islamabad-Rawalpindi metropolitan area and is a popular tourist destination.Covering a total area of 2.8 hectares, the monument is shaped as a blooming flower petal-shaped structure built of granite, with the inner walls of the petals inscribed with the outlines of Lahore Fort, Badshahi (Emperor’s) Mosque, Khyber Pass and Minar-e-Pakistan. The Monument opens onto a marble terrace providing a birds-eye view of Islamabad City. The four main petals of the monument represent the four provinces of Balochistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Sindh, while the three smaller petals represent the three territories of Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir and the Tribal Areas. The central platform is made in the shape of a five-pointed star which is surrounded by a water body. A metallic crescent surrounding the star is inscribed with sayings of the Founding Father of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah and poetry of National Poet, Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Adjoining the Monument is the Pakistan Monument Museum, which includes a wax museum depicting important events leading to the Pakistan Movement. The complex receives on average received 1500 tourists per day. From air the monument looks like a star (center) and a crescent moon (formed by walls forming the petals), these represent the star and crescent on Pakistans flag. The foundation stone was laid on 25 May 2004, completed in 2006 and inaugurated on 23 March 2007.

A very well maintained Museum located in Islamabad. Well managed and well maintained. The Historic cars Mercedes Pullman, and Bentley are the center of attraction. However very little changes have been made to the museum in the past few years. The concerned authorities should take initiative to update various aspects of the museum, for example the Science and technology portion as well as the industry one.

But, as i moved forward from gallery to next chamber where all statues of our great leaders standing, my patriotic sense just got up and i spent nearly 5 hours here to explore each and every section of the museum. Video room is my favorite as i watch old videos and read literature there. All credit goes to the team who managed it.
