Beautiful and peaceful place to visit in the morning. Well managed but still need some improvements.

While planning new towns, the planners particularly earmark convenient places for parks, schools, hospitals and markets all around the residential localities for the benefit of the residents. Parks are the best places to visit to relax. Parks offer the best environment where kids can play around, young ones can walk or jog, and elders can sit, relax or just watch the children play.Argentina Park is one such recreational spot planned at the heart of the city in sector G-6 of the federal capital. The Capital Development Authority established the park in cooperation with the government of Argentine. Media reports suggest that Argentina Park was inaugurated on May 23, 1973 at the initiative of President Zulfikar Ali Bhutto as an expression of thanks for Argentina’s support extended to Pakistan at the United Nations Security Council and the United Nations General Assembly against the backdrop of the 1971 war between India and Pakistan.The Polyclinic Hospital was built in 1966 whereas the Argentina Park was developed for the specific purpose of providing a green and healthy environment to the people of the area, and the patients and those visiting the patients in the hospital to relax.

Argentina park is the oldest one park properly established as park in the newly established city of Islamabad. Its was named Argentina Park to pay thanks to the state of Argentina for its support extended to Pakistan in UNO against India after 1971 Pak-India War. Then PM Mr. ZA Bhutto inaugurated the park alongwith Ambassador of Argentina. All the expences incurred in 1973 were borne by the Givernment of Argentina. It is not a big Park but beautifully designed and landscaped. It is adjacent to Polyclinic Hospital from north side and on south road and beyond Road Melody Market having Police Station Aabpara GPO Ministry of Religious & Minority Affairs National Bank of Pakistan National Savings centre Melody Cinema Islamabad Hotels other banks and a Market. This is actually F-6 Markaz commonly known Melody Market due to the only cinema with the name of Melody however now it has been burnt and no in operations. Argentina was made keeping in view the map of Argentina.When in previous regime it was decided to extend polyclinic hospital, the park was to be demolished and a hospital block was to be constructed However, the Embassy of Argentine decided to save the park and to go to court against elimination of the Park as the costruction expenditures were incurred by the state of Argentine and not Pakistan. The matter remained subjudice and now Supreme Court of Pakistan has given its judgment in favour of Park and now park shall not be demoloshed and this historic place will remain alive and intact.

Most beautiful park in G-6 sector Islamabad. Well maintained by CDA. I entangled in its beauty. When you come policlinic for check up must visit this park. It will make you fresh and charming.

This place seriously needs a lot of attention of cda as there are less trees and people throw garbage here, most dustbins are required to install and more plantation is also required, there was a time when this place was famous among people who used to come here for a relax time
