Ambience is very good with option of indoor and outdoor seating. The building is nice with a mix of mughal and modern architecture. Clean tables and crockery. Food is of good quality and taste but according to my standards all food items that I tried were not spicy. If you are a spicy food fan then this place may not be the best choice. There are variety of options in menu. Overall the place is good for casual and formal gatherings.
The ambiance, the food and the service.. Everything was commendable! This was the first-ever place I went to eat out in Islamabad, since I am from Karachi, and I loved the food and it was an overwhelming experience.
So, this Saturday night I found myself at Mughlai Courtyard with family. Its in F8 right next to Daintys (We are following Google maps and it led us a merry chase)Now first thing is first; the entrance and Courtyard is absolutely fantastic! It gives a feeling of openness and space, something we dont get in our modern day shoebox houses. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. There is a lot of outside sitting including a baramda but we choose to sit inside in the air conditioning. The ambiance and decor inside was also pleasant, depicting mughal art. My husband noticed that despite being open air the place was pretty clean. Now the food:We ordered garlic Nan (as an appetizer) Malai boti, Murgh Makhni and Sultani Gosht. The last one was a gamble that paid off. The garlic Nan was yum (my husband regrets not getting them packed for home). The Malai boti was also good, it had a good smoked flavor and my kids ate it easily. We ordered the Murgh Makhni on the servers advice I thought the taste was good but it was too rich for me. The Sultani Gosht was mutton. I loved it. The balance of flavor was great, there was no smell, it was cooked to perfection and when it comes to mutton I do not use the words lightly. I usually avoid mutton at eateries but this was a pleasant surprise. We got complimentary Matka Qulfi, which was honestly, in my opinion, too sweet. But the star of the show was the Nan selection. You cant enjoy food without good Naan and they had the best.Summary:Good restaurant when you want to go for local cuisine. Great option if you have guests from abroad. The food is spot on, authentic and very well balanced. The ambiance is great. I would love to come here late at night, sit outside and enjoy the food with a cup of tea.PS.I forgot the exact bill but all the dishes were under 1000, the Mutton dish was probably 1050 approx.
Wonder what all the hype and praise was about. We found the food below average. The names were fancy (like Murgh Bahar, Nauratan Sabzi & Gosht-e-Baedamjan) but the food itself was nothing so. The only saving grace was the Reshmi kebabs and the cheese nans. After a lousy dinner, we tried three different desserts namely Shahi Tukra, Gulab Jaman and Kulfi Falooda but unfortunately none out of these is worth a mention. As for the ambience, they tried their best to create a nice feel to it by adding desi touches in interiors to uniforms to the music but still couldn’t create a pleasant experience. Once is enough; we won’t be trying this place again.p.s. And did we mention that their credit card machines were out of order without warning.
The food was okay. But its a relatively small place compared to what i saw in photos.
Well managed and furnished place it. Really enjoyed a lot there. Listening to qawali was also awesome
Delicious food (especially the Seekh Karahi), but slow service
Its now called Qissa Khwani Restaurant. Very tasteful at reasonable prices
Pros: The food was good and rich in flavour. The servings were decent, each dish could accommodate 3-4 people.Cons: No outdoor heating. Very bad parking spaces. Do not expect to find parking space before 6 or 7. Valet services are available though. You can expect a bill of Rs. 1,500/- per head for a good meal.
Well the place is good but the service and taste is not good. I will not recommend to a friend but you can try if you want to

The place is now known as kisr-e-sultan. Food is ok and comparable with any other restaurant in city.
Delicious food and a nice place to sit down specially in the evening. Really interesting menu - neat and tidy environment and friendly staff. Defo recommend to go and eat with friends and family
Its name is change with different cuisine now new name is khisa kahani KPK style food .
I went there with my friend and ordered Mutton Namkeen Karahi (which was average in taste) worth of Rs 1800/- per kg and when bill came That was of Rs 2300+. Whom details are mentioned in provided below pic. Most importantly, they included sales tax which is govts authority.Highly NON recommend. Save your time and especially money.
Taste is okay. Tea is fantastic
So beautiful and peaceful... delicious food and very good service.. Highly recommended
Good place for family. Their food is nice too.
Delicious n awesome food. Good place to go with family
Unprofessional, not trained staff. Management is weak not even seen any supervision. Food quality was so and overpriced. Cant recommend.
It was a great experience there. Excellent food with great serving and very reasonable prices.
Food was delicious. Ambience was nice. But the chairs and tables were old. They might have brought the old furniture from tuscany courtyard.
Authentic bar b que. neat and clean. staff are cooperative.
A lovely dine in experience. A bit overrated for what it offers though. Not recommended for price per ratio.
Very bad experiance. Ordered a 1000 rupee beef baryani which was pathetic. It was soaking wet in oil and the rice were moist. When I told the waiter after paying the full 1500 rs bill about the poor quality of Baryani the waiter just ignored me twice which is very rude considering i spent 1500 rs for a pathetic Baryani
Nice ambience but food was okay
Visited 3 times and everytime BBQ ended. What on earth this kind of a resturant is. They though have good tasty food but not all the things in menu are avilable.
A very nicely decorated restaurant with limited continental cuisine on the menu. Some of its top rated dishes include Mutton Karahi, Murgh Bahar, Angara Chicken and Malai Boti. BBQ items were really good. The restaurant has also got wonderful presentation for its variety of food. However, a little overpriced menu and lesser quantity of food in the dish makes it heavy on the pocket.
One of the best Mutton karahi in town. Very sumptuous!! Lawyers get 15% off too.
Absolutely terrible food. Undercooked, tasteless and incredibly overpriced. Avoid at all costs.
Service is very good but most of the dishes are not up to the mark. Average food quality only.
Good place to dine but food is just above par, not exceptional and there is lack of consistency in taste.
Good food, nice ambiance but the servings are less than satisfactory so not recommended if you are looking for value for money.
Authentic Mughlai experience with a wide variety of unique dishes! Highly Recommended!
Excellent food. Good environment. Though they only serve Pakistani cuisines.
Nice place for Islamabad. Average food at best
Nice Place
Excellent desi food. Will definitely try again.
Poor. Not worth the price. Ambience is good but absolutely irritating music with average food quality and quantity with absorbent price tag.ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMENDED
Amazing food taste and good ambiance
Food was great. They have awesome chai!
Went with friends, not crowded even on a Friday eve. Food was excellent, but decor is so-so for such a newly built place that has ownership roots from the legendary Tuscany Courtyard.
Food and environment both were very good. Highly recommended

Best ever local meal , excellent presentation and food quality
Great location with excellent food
Food was great. But its heavy on the pocket
Great cry, little wool!! It was my first visit. Food quality is fine, more concentration on ambiance, less on food quality, exorbitant prices as compared to quality and taste. Food is not that great that it worths this much price. Despardes, chathas and Mughali courtyard, same taste.
The first time I went to mughlai courtyard was for suhoor in Ramadan. Tired from waking up after a deep sleep, the rich flavors of all the dishes woke me right up! Everything was coming in freshly cooked, making the food absolutely delicious! The mango lassi was the perfect blend of tangy and sweet, and the serving size was absolutely perfect. Considering the suhoor was a buffet, I was able to eat as much of the tasteful biryani, malai boti, nihari, and so much more! I was both flattered by the variety and deliciousness of the food, and proud of how beautifully this restaurant had portrayed our culture in the form of edible delights and a traditional ambiance! I was so in love, I went for iftar the next day and was met with the same standards as the first experience. It has truly become a family favorite!!
Excellent place awesome environment and the food was out of this world tasty
Nice ambiance, live music and good food. Their malai boti is a must try.
