It is one of the entry gates of the old Peshawar city area. Opens towards East and on eastern route one can go to Ring Road, Hazaar Khani, Phandu, Urmar and Chamkani villages via Phandu road and Inquilab road. On its right facing east one can reach Bari Baghbanaan and Yaka Toot gate and then Kohati Gate. On its left one can reach Lahori gate and further to G.T. Road.Inside Gunj gate a not so big road leads to Yaka Toot area inside city.The narrow road doesnt favors taking cars instead bikers can pass easily.Its a very congested area and most of the times its jam pack with traffic.

Gunj Gate is one of the 16 gates in the old walled city of Peshawar. History says this gate built before 1900. Gunj meaning treasure in Sanskrit language.
