Main library university of Punjab Lahore is big store of book and source of knowledge. It have many haal and corner for different and variety of educational and a academic stuff. It also have different zone including sleint study zone, discussion zone,and research zone etc.

Punjab University Library is the largest resource center of knowledge and information in Pakistan, which came into existence in 1882. The library remained in its old building up to 1988 and in the same year it was shifted to its present two storied building. The total area of library is 102,000 sq. feet with a basement of 10,000 sq. feet. It started functioning with the purchased collection of Sir Donald Macleods 2000 volumes, and up to December 2011 it boasts a book collection of 5,50,000, which includes 24000 manuscripts and 80,000 bound volumes of national and international research journals covering various discipline taught in the University. This prestigious library has more than 50,000 volumes of old documents published during the later half of 19th and first two decades of 21st century. The library has 1273 microfilms of rare material. It is a depositary library for the UNO publications.

You can find any book even books of fifty years old and you can also find fifty years old newspaper. Internet is free at library and its speed is exceptional. No one can use these fecilities only students of university of the Punjab can use. They need library card. You can get card from library of hundred rupees and fill it and attest it from your department and give back to library clerk, thats how you can get card.

Very nice and good place for learing

Sometimes staff behavior is unethical and act like unsound. Staff training is compulsory at this stage, their faces seems like anger, unhappy and unpleasant. Otherwise I really love this place with lot of unique collection of books. Internet facility is available here. Library card holder can avail this opportunity (Library).

Books are the custodians of knowledge and our future generation. It is a great blessing of Allah.

The main library of the Punjab University, the oldest seat of learning in the Sub-continent, has become the largest e-library in the country with a stock of 65,000 modern books online.The facility of unlimited high speed free internet without any connection has been extended to all scholars, students and teachers at the main library.—Punjab University Library has its collection in 9 major national and international languages and different types like, print material, CDs, DVDs, Floppies, Microfilms, Microfiches, Video and Audio Cassettes and Manuscripts. Punjab University Library also have audio visual facilities for its readers like, TV, VCR, CD/DVD Drives, Multimedia projector, Microfilm and Microfiche reader/printers. Besides all these we are searching new horizons to facilitate our readers through manual and electronic technologies,- -A newly-built Chinese corner sponsored by the Chinese government and China Hanban and a corner for schoolchildren were also inaugurated at Punjab University
