Divisional Public Schools are the offshoots of this plan and owe their existence to the recommendations of the Sharif Commission. The first School built in Model Town, Lahore in 1963. The scheme of Divisional Public Schools was initiated in 1958-59, when the “Sharif Commission”, a special commission on national education for secondary education submitted detailed recommendations on primary through post-graduate education.

I like this institute.but it should have to initiate a programme for back ward,i.e Balochistan.and for poor students.it should relax its rulls for poor and hardworking students.i personally have wish to have admission for my kids but unable to afford its charges,further it did not have any relaxation for teachers sons,

I am still studying in this school. Its a good school but some teachers are not the same as before.

DPS is my alma mater. I have studied here for almost 7 years. It sure is a very old school with vast playgrounds and stuff but I personally think it is failing to incorporate the modern techniques of teachings into the students. They dont encourage students to participate in activities infact extracurricular activities have literally very little part. As a result most of the students turn out to be shy and unpresentable in the university life. Im all of this as a girls wing student. Sure I dont know about the boys wing. Another thing there is kind of sexism between the two wings. Boys wing has better facilities than girls wing. Plus during my time, our trip went only as far as model town park. Literally no recreational life. Whereas for boys wing trips have also gone to khewra mines in the same time period.
