Mangal situated in the Emporium Mall Food court is a healthy option based on clean food. The freshness of Food is evident. The place has food for people affording around 350 per head food. The main dishes are like Arabic cuisine .You can try the chicken shawerma, Gyro or a lamb diner role if you are into roles and sandwiches. The sauces with it are based on Arabic taste. The staff is friendly and the food court is quite neat. The main basics of this place is based on freshness and cleanliness in an affordable price. You can have chicken, beef or lamb option. The chicken options are more then the lamb and beef options. They humus with neat as well.

Finally tried this new Arabian cuisine eatery “Mangal” at the Emporium Mall. Heard they bake their own shawarma bread which was quite thin and soft unlike the thick bread used often here in Pakistan. Shawarma was yummy and filling was great too. But it was expensive considering the miniature size Chicken was quite tasty n crispy and so much better than what KFC offers! The food was also economical.

Before I go into the Shawarmas at Mangal, Ill say that Shawarmas are a mainstay in the middle east and one of easiest options, in say Saudi Arabia, was Shawarmer, which basically was the fast food version of the traditional shawarma. As I usually got a shawarma from either Shawarmer or Yamal Ashaam. I loved the western fast food fusion that Shawarmer bought to the humble Shawarmer, think of it as a more bland but normalised version of the shawarma. So imagine my surprise that since coming back to Pakistan my search for the ultimate shawarma (or the version nearest to Shawarmer) has been a dismal failure. There was supposed to be a restaurant on mm Alam Road that closed and the last I heard that Faletties is supposed to do a mean shawarma. Anyhow coming back to Mangal, the first time I came here I tried the Chicken shawarma and they got the bread right, they got the meat right, they got the fries right and they got the pickled veges right but the shawarma was swimming in sauce, so I went again today and asked they to lay off the heavy dose of sauce and smack me silly, but I think Ive found Shawarmer in Lahore!

Nope. Not Arabian at all. I was quite excited about this place seeing all the hype. But disappointed. Hummus was bad. Bread used for Shawarma is not exactly how it is in the Middle East. Meat used for Shawarma, both beef and chicken, does not have the authentic flavor. There was no tahini used. All the positive hype created is done by people who never got to experience authentic Middle Eastern food. But, there was one thing that was fine. Falafel. That’s it!We also ordered Lahori Tawa Chicken. And nope.

I believe these guys should visit any arabian country before they can sell Falafils or Hummus. Damn those falafils were hard as stone and tasteless. Hummus was even worse. I am not sure i will spend any dime on any shwarma or platters with Mangal.
