Food was absolutely spectacular and the environment was very friendly. Fit for families and groups. The staff was well behaved and understanding. Things that I did not like, was that they do not have tables, they only have high step huts and if someone had a medical problem and cannot climb a step that high, that would be a task. Other than that, my experience was wonderful

I came with my family here and I gotta say I loved. The food was so good! And it is affordable. I enjoyed sitting on the ground on the cushion, it may sound old fashion but it is comfortable. I totally recomment this place.

Very very very bad taste...a strange smell which was not the same we usually tolerate while having Shenwari food. There was something seriously wrong with the meat and on top of that extremely unwelcoming service level. Will never go again and an alarm to others as well.

One of the best places to eat Afghan Cuisine located in Johar Town Lahore. This is my second visit with my family and am really enjoying it.

Rosh was good. Be aware that if you like spicy things then it isnt for you. Rosh is salty but tasty.

The worst karahi( not look even taste like a karahi) I have ever eaten, less quantity. I will never order again, most embarrassing moment when you served half cooked meal, with eggs and raw chicken smell in food.

Poor management. Kept me waiting for seat along with my wife and small kid for 30 minutes. There was no manager and waiters were just rushing here and there. Taste is overall good but it is not worth if you dont get good service.

Qabli pilao was good, Mutant currahi was not well cooked and tastless. We also order Makhni Handi that was just ok. Customer service was not good and team was not collaborating. Price did not worth the value of the food and no payment options through Card.

Good place to have desi food.

Ambiance was good. We ordered dhumba/mutton karhai and believe me the taste was not good. Service was slow. We were waiting for Naan to be cooked and provided to us in the middle of the meal. Gulab jaman was good but too small for a gulab jaman. Didnt accepted the credit card as there is less gst on it around 5 or 6 percent. I doubt that they are paying that 16 or 17 percent gst to government which they are collecting from people. Otherwise they would have facilitated their customers with credit/debit card acceptance.

This place has the worst ever management system and staff. After waiting for half an hour the receptionist simply told us to leave or wait as she has reserved the place for someone else although there is no procedure for reservation or anything. Totally not recommended for hangouts, families, etc

Hands down the best place for Shinwari Food. Way better than Noshakh. Ive tried their Dumba Karahi, Chappal Kabab (Beef), Tea and Kabuli Pulao and all was so satisfying for the cravings! Oh and how can I forget their Gulab Jamuns!

Good afghani & peshawari food, good style but slow service

Overall its a good day visiting Maalga. Our experience was good at all. Basically Maalga is mixture of Pakistani and Afghani foods taste representing pakhtoon style. They have huts rickshaw and truck style interior with calm environment. Taste was great, specially their Naan are admireable.Rates are fairly reasonable according to their quality and taste.

We were there for tea. It was fairly good. The gulab jamuns, yummy. Service was pretty good. We opted to sit in the open and unfortunately theyre running short of pedestal fans. That slightly ruined our visit. But we, will, be, back. For some non-veg food.

Had nashta in maalga restaurants. And it was like after ages that I had a good poori halwa and paratha in Lahore. They are so good. The ambiance is so traditional as well. Loved the live music as well. It was amazing overall. High recommended. Its spacious and separate sections for each as well.

Outclass in economical budget

Very nice and delicious food and ambiance is also good here as they offer outside hut arrangement as well as a proper hall to dinne in but the staff need more training and the cooking time or serving thine is bit long it is understand in restaurants like this they tak some time but that are littel slow and they donot accept Cradit card as well they should add these thing and they will be very great

Maalga Khan is an Afghani born pathan who is a famous cheff. He established this restaurant in new posh area of Lahore, R-1 Block of Johar Town. The location of this restaurant is ideal & this restaurant is famous for offering small deals in very economical prices.The restaurant is open from lunch to late night meals until mid night. They have family cabins where a lot of couples & families come to enjoy food in privacy. Since Maalga Khan himself looks after all the affairs so quality & service of the hotel is very good.

Sit in camps if you want to truly enjoy the culture and food (Dumba). Dont go in summers since they dont have any air conditioning in camps. They also take 45 mins to serve and there is no option to pay via card so always bring cash there. I visited this place thrice and I found Chapli Kebab and Karahi best among other dishes.

Prices were high but taste was acceptable..

Very good package of Afghani food in easy experience, from seating options, live music, menu and meats to include dumba, mutton and chicken, prepared in Peshawari, shenwari or namkeen styles, ordered as separate dishes or mixed platter in full or half serving. Overall recommended.

The opening to the restatement seems very small, but then you enter a huge, vibrant place. Nice artsy place. Beautiful little garden. It provides private outdoor floor seatings, but also has an air conditioned room inside at tables. The Mutton tastes exceptionally good. Quabli Mutton Pulao provides you with a tender and delicious meat. The rice distinguishes itself with its Kardamom taste and sweet note. Fresh Afghani bread. The Kawa comes with Gur, but tea is already slightly sweetened. Afghani style life music played in the evenings. Excellent location to enjoy a meal with having discussions and relaxing to the music at the same time. There are few parking spots in front of the restaurant. But it provides parking in a bigger lot adjacent, watch for a pink sign.

Today I tried Maalga restaurant. We ordered beef chapli kebab, dumba sulemani karahi, kabuli beef pulao. Beef chapli kebab were outstanding in taste. Dumba sulemani was average in taste. Kabuli pulao was superb. Seating was very comfortable n Kahwa was good.

Food taste was quite impressive , but service and food presentation should b improved .

We were searching for some food Breakfast around Shaukat Khanam and all of sudden came to know that Maalga has just started Thali poori breakfast... Believe me, it was delicious and unique in taste, also found them very hospitable. Very economical Thali with enough quantity for each item... Two types of chana, Special halwa, achar, Raita.. Poori or katlama, Chai or Kehwa as per your choice.. One thali in just rupees 200....guys this is the must visit place now. They are just lagging behind in some good Marketing as compared to some other giants of same stream.
