This is a heritage property set in the heart of the famous Old City of Lahore, Pakistan. Full of cultural marvels and all credit to the family who maintains it and they play host to many International and National events held within the wall of the Haveli. The framed photographs along the walls of the haveli have so many stories to tell and bare witness to.the history of the city and haveli itself.I highly recommend a visit to anyone visiting Lahore. Its an unforgetable experience matvhed with unbeatable hospitality and warmth extended to all guests, by the owner Mian Yousaf Salahuddin, grandson of the world famous poet Janab Ilama Iqbal.Sharing some photos from a recent Exclusive dinner held at the haveli and it was as always a fantastic event.

Haveli Barood Khana is located in the Bazaar Barood Khana. It was built around 250 years ago, in the Sikh era, in order to store gun powder, weapons and ammunation. Mian Amiruddin, the first Muslim Lord Mayor of Lahore, bought it in 1870. The mansion has stayed in this family ever-since and different generations have built different sections of it. Literary and political luminaries of yesteryears like Iqbal, Jinnah, Sir Syed, Hali, Faiz, M.Aslam and Sheikh Abdullah visited this haveli regularly. Currently, it is owned by the grandson of the national poet Allama Iqbal, Mian Yousaf Sallahudin. Mian Salli has done a marvelous job of historical conservation of this wonderful building. The room I loved the most was the baithak set in the basement. He has decorated it with wonderful memorabilia, priceless photographs and paintings. What impressed me most was his open heartedness in sharing his legacy with everyone. He invites strangers to visit his home, hosts dinners and lunches for foreign guests, lends the mansion to film and drama companies and even produces a musical show here called Virsa. No wonder he has been declared the undisputed guru of the cultural scene of Lahore.

Haveli Barood Khana is an 18th century haveli located in the old city of Lahore Pakistan. It was built during the Sikh rule of Lahore by Sikh army. In recent times, haveli have become the cultural symbol of Lahore. It was built in the 18th century by a Sikh commanding general and used as his house. Part of the haveli acted as an ammunition depot and part was used as a residence. This was the norm at that time to keep ammunition at the commanding officers house. At that time it was the biggest depot outside of Lahore Fort and faced the Fort directly. This is the reason it was named Barood Khana meaning place ammunition depot. Current resident and owner of the haveli is Yousuf Salahuddin, a socialite and philanthropist from Lahore. The haveli came into his family in 1870 when his forefather, Mian Karim Buksh bought it.
