Visited Alhamra Arts Council at Mall Road for Lahore Music Meet 2020. Have been there before too. Alhamra is definitely one of the best venue in Lahore if anyone wants to host a festival or big literary, music festival or exhibition. The parking can be tricky for big events but rest is great. Clean washrooms, entry for disabled, well lit halls, very spacious seatings, clean and wide outdoor lawns. If you see some event happening there and are confused whether to go or not, YOU SHOULD. Great place overall!
The oldest theatre facility in the country and probably one of the best with experienced staff and vibrant audience.
A place that must be recommended. ️Visited a few months back and really amazed to see the beauty out there. ️
It has 2 spacious halls with good air conditioning and almost all the essentials of an art/ cultural hall. Management here is good, I have always enjoyed the events here used to well managed and having nice content.
I rate its to his past so much craudy it was actually I have no word to say.

Alhamra is one of the oldest institute for arts. A very beautiful building and the Alhamra academy of performing art is providing platform for the young aspirants to follow there passion in the field of art.
It is an amazing place with a lot of talented artists learning, sharing and displaying art. It is on walking distance from Lahore zoo on Mall road. One can go there using Speedo.
Its beautiful place for arts and cultural activities like theatre and arts classes.
Cultural centre in lahore. also houses office of minister of information punjab. hub of cultural activities in lahore
Alhamra Art centre is best place at Lahore for cultural Activities
It was too easy than my expectations
A well established institution for learning misic, drawing, singing from well renowned and professional instructors.
Alhamra Art Center is not only the hub of cultural activities but also a state of the art construction. It is a masterpiece of our famous architect Nayyar Ali Dada. The completion year of this building wad 1992.It is situated at Mall road Lahore that reminds us the Colonial era of Sub-Continent. Mall road was once called Thandi Sadak just because of long and shady trees.Alhamra was built to promote art and culture and it is contributing a lot. There are often evenings with cultural activities like Theater, Folk music, classical music, art exhibitions, books festivals, sittings with writers etc. Its director is mostly from performing art that helps more to fulfill its requirements.Alhamra Art Center is consist of 4 different buildings i.e. Hall 1, 2, 3 and art gallery. There are classrooms for performing art besides Hall no.3. Here new ones come and learn music from Ustaads. While Art gallery is for painting and sculpture exhibitions. In addition they provide opportunity to young ones to learn painting etc. There is a canteen for refreshments.Overall ambience of Alhamra Art Center is full of art that helps artistic minds to do new and innovative.
Alhamrah Art Center is place of peace and cultural center which is righting the Pak India relationships through the cultural programs as well as promoting the entertainment industry which belongs to stage dram under the transparent board. This center is producing money to bear its own expenses .
Alhamra Arts Complex is my most favorite place, I was regular visiting the Alhamra to attend my Dance Class, they conduct Dance class, Music class, Instrumental class, class and also classes
One of the best places to attend events related to culture and arts ; mostly including poetry seminars. Stage shows and music events
My most favorite place the vibes here are just something peaceful
Parking can be a real hassle. No dedicated parking spots per se. You just have to find a spot yourself somewhere around the Centers perimeter. Go down the road between Alhamra and Governor House. Good luck with that!OR just go early! Anyway -A true gem in Lahores crown and true hub of art and cultural activities. This center hosts some of the most important Lahore events several times a year. This includes Lahore Literary Festival, Faiz Festival, Think Fest, among others. The buildings are artfully designed and are splattered with some of the choicest art installations. Entry is generally free. Food is aplenty here and public toilets available.
Very entertainment place a lot fun and enjoyment
There are no canteen or any sitting area, but well for exhibition
Very nice Filling relax
Alhamra Arts Council (also known as the Alhamra Hall, Alhamra Cultural Complex, Alhamra Art Gallery and Lahore Arts Council) was designed by Nayyar Ali Dada and completed in 1992.The Alhamra Arts Council is located on a colonial-period road in Lahore, Pakistan, that was formerly known as Mall Road and has been renamed as Shahrah Quaid-e-Azam. The origins of the arts complex lie in an initial commission of Nayyar Ali Dada to design a 1000-seat auditorium for the Alhamra Arts Council (AAC), of which he was a member. The AAC had been given the site by the government in the years immediately following independence but had generally staged its performances outdoors. The auditorium was completed in 1979 and replaced some temporary buildings.
The place is beautiful, and actually a state-of-the-art institute, perfect for artists. The best place to learn playing musical instruments, for a minimal fee. Also, the best place for art exhibits, performances and functiobs.Caution: Just beware of the hunters who roam around like harmless, art-loving strangers, of any age, and mostly males, who would have vast knowledge of art and give you a long history of their love for art, and then gradually you will see how clingy they are becoming. Moreover, they would be knowing everyone in Alhamra, and you might, initially, feel that they are very influential. Just beware!
Awsome Taste....Really for taste seekers
Every time I visit Al-Hammra, there is something profound that one comes across, may it be a painting exhibition or a stage drama or a musical show. I love this versatility of Al-Hammrah Art Center.Sometimes the exhibitions are quite ordinary and sometimes very good but that is always the case with art exhibitions. I was there to attend a special folk musical show and that made my evening. There are a number of very nice halls in the arts center that one really like to sit in and enjoy the performance of favourite artists. A wonderful place indeed.
One of the most iconic building of Lahore from my childhood, lot of nostalgic value attached to it.In good load days use to there for exhibitions and an odd stage play in Suhail Ahmed time. This building still looks beautiful after so many years and constant pollution of Mall Road.
A great place to visit for all ages. Gives instant relief from despondensy and negativity and fills you to the brim with hope by seeing art and culture thriving and lots of young persons giddy and well mannered. If it were not for such places one could lose all hope. Great music shows and serious drama. Music classes and a revived recording studio. Also v good painting and sculpture shows. If you visit Lahore then, this place must be on your visiting list. Al hamra has a very old history in terms of promoting dramatics and music. A lot of musical concerts and drama competition are held on this place in the past. Every night they show a stage drama which is quite popular in Lahore. The ambiance of this place is too good. Highly recommended to visit this place.
Very nice and beautiful place in lahore

Beautiful place. How could I describe this place in few lines here. It has a history, it has a heart for hosting events, it open its arms for casual visitors coming for random walk and look around the exhibitions.I would suggest, keep a follow up of the schedule of events there and visit the place accordingly, you will like it. (PS. It doesnt include the commercial plays being theatered here, that experience probably wont fascinate many).
The art centered is a famous place. Artists including musicians painters and dancers often perform here to amuse the audience. Different schools also use this place and call families to manifest day to day art related activities.

A further three phases of construction followed that of the auditorium. There were commissioned from Dada by the Lahore Arts Council, a government agency that took over the project from the non-governmental Alhamra Arts Council following a dispute concerning ownership of the land. The first of these phases was completed in 1984 and consisted of offices and art galleries housed in four octagonal structures. In the following year, a 450-seat theatre in hexagonal form was added to the existing auditorium and, in 1992, an octagonal 250-seat facility for lectures and recitals was completed. The buildings are placed in a manner that creates semi-enclosed courtyards and the various polygonal shapes in their design are intended to enhance acoustics when used for performances. The structures are influenced by Mughal era architecture of India and are constructed using a veneer of handmade red bricks overlaying a concrete form. The bricks are bonded with a local mortar and reflect the construction of the historic Lahore Fort and Badshahi Mosque, as well as the red sandstone that was favoured by the Mughals. The design was a winner of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 1998, when the jury described it as a rare example of flexible spaces that has enabled several additions to be made over time, each of which has in turn enhanced, rather than detracted from, its overall architectural value.
Visited it for the first time on Faiz International Festival. They have a plentitude of Halls of great and small sizes. The architecture is nothing less than a marvel. However, the cafe could be improved upon, especially on the taste side. And the speakers arrangement can be looked at as well.
Beautiful elevation, good to see there
Its been a venue for decades for all sorts of commercial, literary, art, theater and festival events. But it definitely needs an upgrade of sorts on its facade and imrovements in the structure and the green area for sure.Rest, itss central, safe, accessible, affordable and accomodating.
Best place for all cultural events.
Its a center of peace and love.A sacred place for artists.
Good and broad place for dramas
A really good place to organise events and conferences. State of the art facilities are available.
Such a peaceful place... Amazing environment
Attended Ali Sethis concert in the Faiz Festival. It was a delightful experience. Seats were comfortable, so was the overall management and outlook. Proper FDOs were setup to guide people to their events. One thing that I noticed was the absence in surround sound in the concert. The sounds were good, but they were omni direction. If something can be done to produce a surround effect, it would be great.
Attended AdAsia Conference here and its a very beautiful place - Love you LAHORE
Alhamra is the place where you can find the different shapes of art, for instance drama, theater, live performances, outdoor plays, musical instruments and many more .One can also join the active societies which are delivering in the art in a very respective manner.
#LLF! One of the best places in lahore. They have some of the best events. A lot of opportunities to learn music, art and much more.
It was an amazing day in Alhamra Hall.
Nice place for exhibition and theatre...
I was invited for play Kithay Jaway Jhalli. In the heat of Lahore, there was not a single AC working, the Director of the Play was too rude with the audience. Performance was good, and girl in the lead was great.
Good place for shows, parties, stage dramas, and other fashin shows. Good place for a visit with family and children. This place is located at very good location in a very peaceful and natural area having halls, parks, gardens and status of historical people. It is a very good place for visiting.
I went there for my nephews mega event from kips school. It was nice... I like the environment.
A cultural Hub in Lahore Very beneficial for all age people
Alhamra is heaven.I mean the aura that place has and the serenity it harbours is something that an artist can demand.Even if you are not there to watch a play. Just pay this place a visit. Youll most probably love it.Disclaimer: You need to have a taste for it though.
If you visit Lahore then, this place must be on your visiting list. Al hamra has a very old history in terms of promoting dramatics and music. Very nice place
Average experience. The halls seem big from outside. However there is not enough seating in the halls to accommodate a large crowd. The seating margins are narrow and congested. The chairs are of poor quality. Canteen doesnt offer quality meals as well. The food items are overpriced more than 30% their original price. Maintenance must be improved. Security is fine.
I was go there for annual function of the spirit school. There is no food place or canteen. But that place is safe and secure.
Great place to visit
An art centre or arts center is distinct from an art gallery or art museum. An arts centre is a functional community centre with a specific remit to encourage arts practice and to provide facilities such as theatre space, gallery space, venues for musical performance, workshop areas, educational facilities, technical equipment, etc.[1]In the United States, art centers are generally either establishments geared toward exposing, generating, and making accessible art making to arts-interested individuals, or buildings that rent primarily to artists, galleries, or companies involved in art making. In Britain, art centres began after World War II and gradually changed from mainly middle-class places to 1960s and 1970s trendy, alternative centres and eventually in the 1980s to serving the whole community with a programme of enabling access to wheelchair users and disabled individuals and groups. In the rest of Europe it is common among most art centres that they are partly government funded, since they are considered to have a positive influence on society and economics according to the Rhineland model philosophy. A lot of those organisations originally started in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s as squatted spaces and were later legalized.Reference: Wikipedia
That was awesome I like to visit Alhamra art centre. People should do visit this place especially art gallery I like art so Alhamra always inspires me to work more as an artist.
It is place where many events are celebrated.
Great place for arts and music lovers.
Excellent sound system. Comfortable seats. The look of the furniture is worn-out.
A very good place to enjoy dramas & plays with family. Although the place is approachable but one has to park cars on roads maybe due to security reasons. This is a bit inconvenient because one has to go on foot to the event being attendant, usually covering large distance. Nevertheless, was impressed by the level of care of the people taking care of cars after payment of the parking fees.
Alhamra art center is good place for entertainment.
Best place in Lahore for co-curricular activities .. Unique Festival (Day 01)Unique Festival @Alhamra Art Center, 68 Mall Road، Lahore#uit #ugi #unique #it #computershortcourses #Lahore #Lhr

Good place
Great work in promoting arts, culture and bringing up different people together at events.
Provides quality entertainment to the public at no cost. As a Lahorite I am proud of this institution.
One of the best art centers in the country. It has not been kept well though but still its comfortable. I do think Karachi art council is better with regards to seating and sound. But I am not an expert.
Its most for the luxury of employees themselves, not for public. The in-charge has big spacious office with separate lounge and fully equipped attached kitchen reserved for him, with fleet of attendants and guards on public exchequer, to entertain his personal guests.Remains under heavy security. No toilets,no sitting or waiting rooms for visitors.Harassment on the name of security.
Good hall spacious
On every sunday they have 2 plays for childrens which is good we realy enjoy that and also its very for every one.so we realy enjoy that.also they have art gallery
Awesome peoples
