This station was developed at the time of creation of capital city as a link between Pindi and Islamabad Industrial area. However never been upgraded as a capital railway station.

A small railway station, basically a dry port.There is small waiting area, water cooler, small tuck shop with limited variety of things. Reservation office is also available.Overall view is very polite, and green.Train timings: 3pm and 5.15 pm.From Islamabad to Lahore everyday.Its better to book ticket online.

The most minimal station there is and adjusts accordingly to the city needs. Of course, railway in all over Pakistan needs an upgrade and there needs to be an improvement in giving the citizens the facility to be able to use trains as one of the main modes of travel cross country.

Best railway station in Islamabad and the only railway station in Islamabad that is I know if any other is place so forgive me on this recommending status. Well this railway station is usually use for cargo and passenger twice of it. This is very important for each Islamabad living person for transportation point of view. Easy access to the destination. Nice and clean environment .

I have been there only once but I really liked this station and found it a very calm place to wait for the desired train. It is very neat and clean hence well maintained. Information about the train is efficiently provided by the staff. Highly recommended place if you are traveling away from islamabad via train.

The station was established in 1979 and a rail shuttle was started between Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The shuttle was suspended within a year due to financial loss and the station closed down. In 1988 freight train services were started from this railway station. In May 2009 the station was reopened and renamed as Islamabad station. On May 15, 2015, a new express train named Green Line Express.

What a nice little station

Margalla Railway station Islamabad is in h9 sector near to NUML university. It a natty and gorgeous railway station. You can book a ticket from here anytime during official working hours. The train from this station goes to pindi station. The train from isb to Lahore leaves daily at 5.15. The fascinating thing is the train follows the time with great puntiality.

Not worth calling Islamabad Railway station. Railway stations of small villages are better than this.

There was no attached wash room in ladies waiting room. I think men or women, the only public toilet at this station was in a mosque, about 150 meters away. Otherwise, this green, simple, small & cute railway station was totally lovable. It had a very big area of land in its boundary wall. I think for pompous, government should make another hi-fi railway station for this city but this peaceful & serene place should be left as it is. As we were a group of ladies for a journey of about 22 hours, we asked the Station Master about who will be traveling with us in the boogie; he did not guide us correctly. He said one Mrs. A... but disappointingly it came out to be a young bachelor!

Pathetic station, more like a village station in appearance and facilities. They should build a modern station close to the MBS Jauhar station to improve connectivity; build double track, run suburban train service to/from chaklala every half hour and terminate stops of long-route trains starting from Isb at Pindi and Chaklala.

Slow Staff.BTW, apparently no trains from this station to Lahore. Im sure about the night coach (midnight, not so much about the others...
