This is absolutely special place & worth to visit. Tasty food serve in beautiful lush green lawns. I was planning to visit this place & finally last night I went there & felt why I came too late to this restaurant. They know how to manage orders. Food served on time despite 2 weddings in our surroundings. Ample parking space & Mosque is also available.

I attended a wedding here recently. The ambience and food was near perfect. The outdoor seating in the winter sun was very nice. The management followed SOPs to the tee. I can only recommend the place highly.

My favourite place but unfortunately my last experience was disastrous. Very poor service. I had to tell them twice to clean table. The worst part was when I opened plastic wrapped cutlery and spoon was smeared with food. Food was tasty as usual but unhygienic conditions specially in Corona time, leaves a question mark on this Restaurant.

Excellent food. Though expensive comparatively to other dine ins. The quality and taste of food here is way better than other desi-western restaurants in Islamabad. I will suggest it for those who can afford it. A bit pricey...

Had buffet brunch with 40 people at 1969. We had reunion of our college. Food was too bad. Everything very cold. Food wasnt worth 2000 rupees at all. Everyone with us was complaining. Menu was too limited.

Talk about classic ambience which is almost true reflection of sixties and seventies era. And on top, amazing food gives an amazing experience. A must place to visit if one hasn’t already. I’ll be visiting them again and again!!

Set in the idyllic green area very close to the Lok Virsa museum this old home converted into a restaurant is a must visit place in Islamabad. No it was not started in 1969 nor is the building in which its indoor dining area is situated was built in 1969 (its much older) the name was just chosen randomly.The food quality is excellent and there is a decent range of items on the menu. The outdoor seating area is much more popular even before COVID times and its an awesome place to enjoy a breakfast or lunch on a sunny winter day or dinner in summers.Even if you do not have a sweet tooth do try their out of this world crispy Jaleebi جلیبی and you will not be disappointed.Highly recommended especially nowadays in the winter during the daytime!

Went there for dinner with the family after reading reviews on Google. Im afraid had a bad experience. Firstly there was a wedding going on when we got there so couldnt enjoy the outdoor seating which is primarily why we chose the restaurant owing to Covid concerns. Eventually got a table indoors to avoid the noise ... The food was below par! Not a lot of flavour to it at all! The interior theme was half hearted and didnt seem as if I was sitting in a restaurant from 1969 and above all the place wasnt the cleanest could be due to the rush from the wedding but thats no excuse.

One of the best places in islamabad... the desi food is fantastic, its extremely pricy but its one if the most spacious and well managed place. However their staff didnt had any English speaking skills which was surprising for such a posh place ( no it wasnt me who wanted to talk to them in english... but my foreign guests from Australia)The reason they dont get 5 stars is because the continental food isnt up to par. They also rent out the place for events and iv had numerous events organised there.. and the experience was always great.Do try their madrasi chicken

Ambience is good but food is too much expensive. Quantity of food is too little and taste is also average. Staff is also not caring and too ignoring. Only recommended if one wanna visit to enjoy the ambience that too in day time bcz food is only average and too much expensive

Chicken Koyela Karachi is very well cooked . Initially behavior of staff was not good reason best known to them but later on they made our day ! In Islamabad a very much recommended place .

Restaurant is located at peaceful location of Islamabad. I had heard a lot about it so I went their for the first time along with my relatives visiting me from Multan. Their Mughlai Handi was not as we expected. So I think may be I will have to visit again to make up my mind and comment fairly.

It was a great experience eating at 1969.Food was good and atmosphere great sitting outside. I always feel satisfied after eating at 1969.

Came here for my cousins wedding. Location and surrounding scenery are beautiful and open. There were multiple events going on but there were well separated. The food was absolutely faultless and the stage decoration was incredibly smart. There was a mosque in the vicinity of the restaurant as well and ample parking.

When it comes to taste this is one of the best restaurants ive come across until now.Their mutton karahi and palak paneer are superb in taste.Also tried their lahori fish which was pretty much delicious.In desserts their gulab jamun and feerni are the best.The sitting environment consists of both in open air and inside restaurant.A good family gathering point on the whole.

Ambiance was nice, although lots of noise. Hygiene not good. Furniture was dirty, spoons had stains and were put on the surface of the table. Service was exteeeemly sluggish, wasted a lot of time. Food was just fine but very expensive.Not recommended unless one has some time and money to waste.

We came here especially from lahore after reading a lot of good reviews about this restaurant. However, much to our disappointment the quality of food was below average even inedible. Both the chicken handis were undercooked and even after sending them back 3 times the handis could not be eaten.

Outdoor area is quite good, indoor restaurant is well and beautifully furnished, drinks we ordered specially peach lemonade, n lime type drinks were just okay, Id recommend not to order them but the other food was quite good

Nice ambience, though peak Summer they managed it well with fans all around. Seating was in Lawn for Iftar time. Prayer place was also designated, those for whom it matters. Food was also acceptable, a variety was available, time & money well spent.

I had a chance to go to 1969 and time goes on restaurant and what a amazing experience I had desi BBQ along with the herb mutton khari from their winter menu one word WOW simply loved it other items r also very tasty n yummy good quality with quantity do try if u guys get a chance do visit n try it also u will enjoy the lush green grass ground along with long lighted n height trees.

1969 Restaurant is good looking in viewable area but it so costly. As in Pakistan, its common that in public places prices are so hiked and no one available to investigate them for this act. This restaurant is also one of them. On the other hand, its services, furniture/fixtures are good. Its meal taste is also commendable. You may visit with your family and friends also.

Visited a couple of days ago. Food was tasty and well cooked. But main attractions for the place are its traditional setting its location. Situated in woods, offers nature as its environment. Outdoor arrangements were attractive but didnt opt due to cold weather.Overall a great experience.
