Federal Flood Commission was established in 1977 through a Resolution dated 4-January-1977 passed in Inter-Provincial Conference when Provincial Governments failed to take preventive measures to cope with disastrous floods of 1973 and 1976. Main functions of Federal Flood Commission are to prepare Flood Protection Plans at National Level, to approve Flood Control Schemes prepared by Provincial Governments and to improve in Flood Forecasting and Warning System at National Level. Federal Flood Commission has four sub-sections i.e. (i) Civil Engineering Cell (ii) Power Engineering Cell (iii) Flood Cell (iv) Dams Safety Council [Thanks and Long Live Pakistan]
