The Board of Investment was established through Board of Investment Ordinance 2001 with major responsibilities (i) to promote, encourage and facilitate both local and foreign investment; (ii) to facilitate of local and foreign investors for speedy materialization of their projects; (iii) to enhance Pakistans international competitiveness and contribute to economic and social development; (iv) to assist companies and investors who intend to invest in Pakistan; (v) to provide information on the opportunities for investment; (vi) to act as a focal point of contact for prospective investors, both domestic and foreign; (vii) to provide exemplary leadership as the apex investment promotion body by: (a) Implementing proactive cost effective responsive and targeted promotion strategies (b) Delivering effective investor facilitation services on behalf of the individual investor (c) Creation of a centralized data-bank.
