The Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (popularly known as PIDE), is a post-graduate research institute, and a public policy think tank located in the vicinity of Islamabad, Pakistan.Founded in 1957 by the Government of Pakistan, it is located in the university area of Quaid-e-Azam University but it has its own board of overseers. In 1964, it gained its influence on government and gained autonomous status the same year. Since its establishment, the PIDE is an influential voice in the formation of Pakistans public policy concerning diverse issues. The institute has a long been a place of scholarship of high-profile and prominent individuals who previously held positions in government, including Benazir Bhutto, Mahbub-ul-Haq, Robert Mundell,and Shahid Allam— all PIDE fellows.

Employee at PIDE since the late 1990s. Great place for me to work; as with any workplace, not without issues but I have freedom and flexibility to work. It is considered to be a reputable think tank for economics research.

Pide is very very well reputed economic school in country and town. It is located inside Qau campus near gymnasium and Girls hostel. It has its own bus service which covers pindi islamabad and surrounding areas too. It is autonomous body.

PIDE is the most respected research and educational institute in the discipline of economics in the country. It is located inside the campus of Quaid-i-Azam University(QAU), Islamabad. It should be clarified that PIDE is not under the administrative control of QAU. rather it is a separate autonomous degree awarding institution. Very big names have headed it. Among them are Dr. AR Kemal, Nawab Haider Naqvi, Dr. Nadeem Ul Haq. It is located in a beautiful place. In from of it is the mighty Margla Mountains.

Professionalism is at par with best institutions of Asia. But its Administration is quite in efficient . Zero Automation of work I see
