The University of Agriculture (UAF) is a public research university in Faisalabad, Pakistan. UAF is the Oldest and Pioneer Agriculture Institute in the South Asia. It is ranked 4th in Pakistan and 1st in the field of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences by Higher Education Commission (Pakistan) (HEC) Ranking in 2019. It was also ranked at No.127 in life Science and Agriculture Science (Shanghai Ranking 2019). The employability ranking by Pakistan made this institution highly reputable. The university came among top 5 institutions of Pakistan in research power. The University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (formally: Punjab Agricultural College and Research Institute), is a university in the city of Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan. It was established in 1906 as the first major institution of higher agricultural education in the undivided Punjab. At independence in 1947, Pakistan was a predominantly agricultural country. In spite of subsequent industrialization and development, agriculture remains central to its economy. After independence, the Government of Pakistan appointed the National Commissions on Food and Education to reform the existing agrarian system and to formulate measures for developing better agricultural potential. The commissions made a plea for the establishment of an agricultural university for research and education. It was established by upgrading the former Punjab Agricultural College and Research Institute in 1961. It was the first university built by the British Empire in 1906 with the foundation stone laying ceremony by Sir Louis Dane, the then Lieutenant and Governor of the Punjab. The 1,950-acre campus represents both history and the present era. The new campus is lush green with a conglomeration of monolithic blocks built in modern style. The old campus is reminiscent of traditional Muslim architecture. The main campus is situated in the centre of the city (12 km northeast of the Faisalabad International Airport), about 2 km away from city centre/ clock tower.UAF owns and operates major cultural assets such as the Zoology Museum, UAF Art Gallery, University LibraryThe universitys faculty employs more than 800 teachers.[citation needed] The university has boys and girls hostels. It accommodates over 15,000 students and approximately 12,000 day scholars. Premier hostels are Jinnah Hostel (named after the founder of Pakistan Muhammad Ali Jinnah), Iqbal Hall, Fatima Jinnah Hostel and Hailey Hall. The university under the short courses program organises training facilities in agriculture and allied disciplines for in-service, pre-service and self-employed personnel, farmers, and others interested in agriculture. Separate courses are provided for ladies on the subjects and skills peculiar to womenfolk. The division has developed 124 courses leading to diplomas and certificates. Most of these courses have a practical bias.

I have been student of this university, and i did my bachelor from here in Agri Sciences (2014 to 2018). When graduated, I found my self unable to cater to practical life dyanamics. So when i actually overhauled my self looking for the causes of my weaknesses, is when i realized the problem did not just reside with me ONLY.Seriously, this universitys academics and curriculum have played no positive role in refining my abilities and personality. It was a waste of money and time.Dont believe me? I think i can prove my point just stating out the fact that in my four years of education, not even a single presentaion was assigned to me; RIP to confidence and public speaking skills. And whats more? You can take 4/4 CGPA just by reading a few pages of notes a day or two before exams; RIP to reading and comprehension skills. University claims to have a furnished library, thousands of books etc, and they even posted a fake picture on there website to prove the point, but its nothing like that. In 90% of the cases, the librarians denied me the book i needed, saying that it was restricted by university staff.Talking about hostel life, it was a disaster in quality compared to hostels in other universities like PU. Koi standard ni hostels ka.The only positive thing about this uni is that its Asias largest university (area wise only). Guess the area alone cant make you an educated person in true sense.Guys please, choose another university. Han agar agriculture hi perhi he to ap k pas koi other better option ni.NOT RECOMMENDED.
