Good place to go for Indian/Asian groceries. You get literally everything you need here. Staff are helpful and always available. Good selection of halal meats and frozen food too. Sanitization and covid measures need to be much more strictly enforced though. Other than that this place is a must go.

Variety is good. But store is not maintained well. Seems messy. Some products are on shelf even aftr they crossed best before dates. I got this Poha and found worms in it. Happening second time. Highly Disappointed!!!

Everything halal under one roof. A great place for grocery for people who prefer paksitani items from Pakistan. I always go here for meat and chicken. They always have great and fresh beef chicken etc.

Good for desi community but the meat section is full of dum peoples. They dont care if customers are standing on counter. Even in this pandemic they dont care about peoples waiting long in meat section, at least 5 6 peoples should be on front line to take orders.

Best place to find Indian Groceries/ Halaal food in Toronto. Been a regular customer for 15 yrs now. Staff is Excellent. One stop for all your Grocery needs. I avoid going during weekends as it gets very busy. Good time to visit is during weekdays from 9am to 5pm.

Best place to have Indian grocery. They have everything in different variety. Even they have herbal products and hamdard products too. They have complete different section for spices and desserts ingredients. Love the store. I am going there since last 2 years and it has never disappointed me. I will suggest this place to everyone. Had been to this Indian groceries super market last week. They have a large variety of India food stuff including fresh meat , chicken and vegetables. If you are Indian food freak, just go for this place, although not in good condition. It looks old and shabby. The butcher section is quite busy and u need to wait for 40 mins to get ur order done. Prices are reasonable for some Indian products. Different types of bread n naan available in bakery section. Hundreds of Indian masala types available . I didn’t like the cleanliness of this place.

3rd class attitude of workers at meat shop.Plus the quality of meat deteriorated tremendously. Bought lamb took almost 3 hr to tender. This happened frequently. Goat meat they wont sell in few pounds. The workers fought and argued with me when I repeatedly requested to find the smaller goat leg. He proudly insulted me in front of whole crowd and announced that this leg is $140, bug it or leave it. Indicated to people you dont have the money to buy this meat. I was extremely embarrassed in front of everyone.Such a humiliation! OMG! I stop buy meat from Iqbal foods. I switched to a better meat shop just blocks away. They are humble and quality of meat is also excellent. As far as regular grocery goes I prefer food basic. I try to used Iqbal foods for spices and lentils.Another new think to add, they started searches with the security guard. If you bring bag pack or something in the store, you have to submit at the front. One has to wait before guy issue you a token and then one also has to wait to collect the stored item. What a misery! They treat us like we are thieves. Horrible! Horrible!If some theft happened in the past, it doesnt mean that all customers has to suffer. Some theft is a part of doing business. It doesnt mean to penalized all the customers. Stingy management!These methods indicate they dont care. They are only there to make a buck out of us. Well people always have choices. Choice to select other venues to shop.

First name that comes to mind for halal grocery in GTA is Iqbal Halal Foods.You can get almost anything here, from species to herbs and Indian Pakistani Arab products, to grocery and halal meat, from cookware to board games and cricket bats, you will found all.This is the first location from where they started so is a bit tight in space. Usually very crowded on weekends so better visit in off hours .They have another mall in Mississauga now as well.

I always go to Iqbal to buy grocery. They have an excellent variety of South Asian products. Everything is a bit too pricy , however the convenience of getting authentic Indian products makes it feel alright! Halal food items and a wide selection of meat is another great thing about this place. All apart, I just feel the meat and poultry guys need to be wearing masks at all times in COVID. Notices that not one of the staffs in that category were wearing masks and touching everything. Seems quite risky! Except for that I am always thrilled to shop at Iqbal because it makes me feel homely.

Sometimes over crowded, very slow getting meat. Remember to get your ticket number first when getting meat as there will be a queue. Overall good selection of vegetables and daily ingredients.

Great, huge store with the variety of halal foods! I looked for halal cheese all over the Toronto’s halal markets but none of them had any! I am happy I found them at Iqbal halal. Mozzarella and Monterey Jack cheeses were yummy! I even found fresh dates there! Huge variety of rices!

Iqbals is my Go To South Asia store when I visit Toronto. It has multiple brands of everything one could imagine, including fresh vegetables and meats. It is next door, with different owners, is Iqbals Restaurant with excellent South Asian/Pakistani meals, available for take out (no indoor seating) during the 2020 pandemic.

Probably the biggest Indian/Pakistani grocery store closer to Toronto downtown/midtown. Availability of the items is good. Has huge Meat/Chicken butcher counter within.. on the downside, meat/chicken center is not organized properly, token system is implented but it took a while even to understand how it works.. and we have to wait for long times.

Good products and good store. But meat section customer service is terrible. They have no sense how to talk and deal with customer. They need training in how to talk to customers. They are very rude and have a disrespectful tone. However, all of this can be solved by just training and monitoring. I quite like this store and have been going for 10 years but now I go to Mississauga paramount meat to buy meat although same quality there but customer service is exceptional there. Please fix as I would like this store to succeed even more.

Almost impossible to find prices on many items and you need to keep walking to the price checker each time. Everything available under one roof but things could have been organized and arranged better. Also spices sections are spread across many aisles.

Incredible supermarket for everything from sub-continent Asian (Indo-Pak) food ingredients, spices, utensils and more. It has close proximity to public transportation (bus stop) and has a good parking spot. From what I have seen, meats are their specialty, and I would suggest that you give it a try.

Has a good selection of South Asian food and items. If you cant find it anywhere else, you can probably find it here. As a consequence though, prices are slightly higher then other chain grocery stores. Very narrow and hard to move around with carts. Most workers are helpful, a select few are subpar. Everything is Halal.

The only reason i give one star less is because they do not have pictures for all products, this make it difficult to shop online. Plus I request iqbals to consider adding brars products and more varieties of cooking oils typically used in south asian cuisines like sesame, mustard & coconut oil. But other than that loving it!!!!!!

This place is pretty awesome, it has just about anything from Asian spices to sweets, vegetables and meat .The only reason Im currently avoiding it is the meat lineup ... its way too crowded and I wouldnt risk it.

Favourite go to grocery store in the town. Can find every type of desi to non desi food, and very affordable. Just wish their meat section was organized better because when it gets busy, it’s hard for them to notice you.

A bit late in posting but here it is. Ive been a loyal customer at Iqbals and have been shopping here for more than 12 years now, but the quality is being a bit affected compared to past . I was in store on Friday to get meat and the quality was not at all fine. When I called in afternoon to the store to report it I happened to speak to the lady customer representative named sabha who not only listened to my frustration bt also apologized for the inconvenience it caused to me. Besides she made efforts to fix the issue. Thanks to her. It was bit surprising because returning something is a big deal in iqbal where no one acknowledges the customer properly. Surely Iqbal foods is doing a lot to keep up with their quality customer service and with such good representatives it would surely make them stand out in the crowd. Hope will continue to strive better in the future too. Also please do something about the crowd at your store.

An ok option if your looking for halal meats and foods. But staff competency, and professionalism seems to be lacking. Especially at the butchers line where the butchers seem to spend more time socializing than filling orders, asked to take a number but Im pretty sure there were people cutting in ahead. They seriously need to restructuring.Its too congested and feels crowded even though it’s not.Please get those new carts with coins to unlock and allow customers to take the carts till their cars, its very difficult to otherwise.

Overall this shop is quite nice and has a decent inventory, prices are good. One issue is that social distancing is a big issue here and most people dont really seem to care about, and the shop can get quite crowded in some areas.

Best place to go to get affordable fresh halal meat in Toronto

This store & its management team has little to no respect/faith in their customers. Theyve implemented a no bag policy which forces ppl who want to be environmentally conscience to have to use plastic bags. Also theyre unbelievably rude when asking ppl to leave their bags at the front. And I never understand why is the entrance to this store feel like a prison. Its a huge fire hazard. Not to mention theres NO Social Distancing every hr someone will come to the speaker and ask ppl to socially distance themselves but its a lazy, dishonest way of handling C-19 issue. If the store allows 100s of ppl inside a store that should only have 20 theyre being disingenuous. One of the most horrible stores in the whole of Canada because of its dangerous/ fire hazard entrance, for its disgusting customer service and implementing no Social Distancing at this point in time where a seriously infectious disease is ravaging the country.

When it comes to Indian stuff, you will find them here. A wholesome reservoir of Indian food items.

The worst ever grocery store, especially meat section! If you know someone in meat section you dont need ticket to wait for ur turn, if you dont know someone, you shall wait minimum 1 hour ; guaranteed. The owner or manager might say oh we are improving meat customer area, but its a lie I would say, dear community members, please consider other places, where you are respected while shopping.. what a waste of my time and rude employees...

You get great variety of Indian grocery. It can be slightly well maintained but still quite a great place for grocery and pretty reasonable..

Update:When we visited the store again today, one of the store employees was pretty rude when we asked him about an item. His response was, read the label at the back of the product, it should be written on it. When we told him that it wasnt written, he seemed frustrated with our question, repeated what he said earlier, and did not seem to be interested in helping at all.Also, theyve implemented a no-bags policy. The new policy requires shoppers to drop their bags at the entrance. After we checked-out today, my wife picked up her backpack and exited the store. One of the store employees followed her outside, loudly called her out and asked her to drop off her backpack at the entrance (which she did) when she visits the store the next time. His tone wasnt the greatest either.As a result, reducing my original 4 star rating 2 stars after todays experiences and probably will not return to this store.Old review:Always crowded. Also, they will carry multiple brands of the same item which gives the feeling that the store is overstocked. Some of the aisles are hardly big enough to fit their carts so it feels a bit claustrophobic too.Having said that, Toronto doesnt have too many South Asian supermarkets so we have to make do with what we have.

We have always shopped at Iqbals and love the variety of products and the quality of the meat. It looks like they have just set up their website and online deliveries, which is only available in Toronto for now. We placed an order for meat and it was delivered in less than 2 hours! It turns out we were the first online order! were very happy with the service and the quality and very excited about ordering other things as well.

Great place for South Asian groceries, as well as a good selection of Portuguese sauces and chutneys. Vegetables, lentils, spices, frozen foods, dairy, fresh meat, dosa batter, baking supplies, pickles, etc. I definitely prefer to shop here than no frills etc as they have everything youd find at a standard grocery chain plus all South Asian supplies. Highly recommend this store.

This is the best grocery store for all things required for Indian cuisine as well as the best selection of fruits and vegetables, snacks, staples etc and very efficient and helpful staff. We love this store.

Meat available here is very fresh, This is the only place we go to get goat meat in Toronto area. The baby goat meat here does not smell bad.

Monopoly is never good. And this store has monopoly on halal grocery retail industry. Its management, years ago, forced a competitor from the area. Since then they have grown exponentially.The variety of choice is satisfactory, however, you have to do your research. They sell a lot of locally manufactured stuff which can be found at cheaper prices at non-halal stores.Because of its near absolute monopoly, this store is always busy and customers are terrible at parking safely. The best time to shop in peace without literally bumping into people is between 7 AM and 9 AM. If you go at any other time, it would be at your own peril.Also, many other small convenient stores and large so-called non-halal grocers carry many imported halal products. You should support them too.

Good place for south Asian grocery items . Lot of Indian produce is available at this place. Spices, rice, meat, dairy products, vegetables, sweets all are available at great prices.The staff are friendly and helpful.Only disadvantage is the narrow aisles thats difficult to navigate when there is rush as well as we cant take the carts to the driveway.

The quality of meats where great with very good price.Also you can find almost any kind of middle eastern spices here.This place also carry a great variety of rices and teas.

Placed online order, received field tomatoes instead of roma tomatoes which were cheaper in price and did not receive the refund!The goat chops ordered barely have any meat on it and it seems that a chunk of meat has been sliced off before processing the chops order.I had to write to them for refund of other two items which were not sent or sent incorrect quantity.Too much of trouble and I wasted my time and effort to avoid the visit to the store.June 26 - UpdateI received an email from the store acknowledging my complaint and refund for Tomatoes.
