The scenery is wonderful. Good view of spill ways, Good place for families to enjoy, the place is worth visiting, attractions for kids, the water, the plants, all give a soothing effect, nice place. I request people NOT to throw garbage and plastic bottles in the water. Save our environment. The area is under army control like all other dams and assets...GOD Bless Pakistan

Terbela Dam has long lasting contributions in Pakistan Agriculture and energy sectors. Pakistan needs more dams like this. The greeneries on the shore have made the area beautiful and attractive for tourists but due to security issues it cannot be opened for public.

Its a worth seeing place. You will be needing a pass in advance to reach there. Any friend or acquaintance in Wapda or Tarbela Cantonment can help you in getting pass. The best time to go there is when the lake is full and spillways are open (July - Aug).

Beautiful calm and full of scenery place, it is recommended for all nature lovers but there is one big problem, you can not visit this place without having permission from GM wapda which will allow only employees family and friends to visit for brief time, best time to visit is from mid of august to mid of September as the spillways are running and dam lake is full

Very beautiful and one of the massive structure in Pakistan. Everyone must visit with family for educational purposes. But the thing is taxpayers of Pakistan does not have any access without some reference or permission. This issue must be addressed.

Tarbela dam is the largest dam in Pakistan. It is also a wonder of engineering. It was build to store water, control the flood of river indus and to generate hydro electric power. It is nearly 80 km from capital of Pakistan ,Islamabad. It is a beatiful place to visit but due to security reason , permisssion is required prior to visit inside. At both banks there are WAPDA employes colinies with all facilities. Ghazi Brotha barrage structure also constructed in downstrem of Tarbela Dam.The length of Tarbela Dam is about 3km including auxiliary dam. The main crest is about 143 m high from river bed level. It has two spillways and five tunnels along with 6th Gundaf arrigation tunnel. Four powerhouses have been constructed at four tunnels while 5 th powerhouse construction is also being finalized. The reservoir created due to Tarbela Dam construction is about 97 km long which stote ample water for arrigation in dry season.The bedt time to visit tarbela is during the month of august and sepyember when spillways are functioning.

This place is so airy. Its scene is so beautiful. The path to it from the Attock, Punjab is also to good and exciting and when we reach to close to this place. Its path becomes so beautiful and fresh due to the mountains and greenary. Here you can found a restaurant to. This place is very good for picnic.

A dam is natural which is an earth-filled dam on the Indus River full of beauty and the true view of natuer attractive place for the tourist and natuer lover and the greenery lovers.It is the largest earth-filled dam in the world, and also the largest dam by structural volume. A big and the great asset for Pakistan gifted by ALLAH.But the thing is place is not open for everyone you need permission from plant operation to visit or get security clearance from security. Here you can not find anything to eat just only the view.

Lovely place. Lovely lake and approach from haripur is amazing

This is a marvelous engineering feat by the then nascent WAPDA . The 1960-70 machinery turbines generators and power house as well as the civil structure of the dam is so well kept and working that one is amazed. The huge power house , mostly underground is spotlessly clean .

Its a wonder of the world in its own right. Words wont do justice, so if you want to be mesmerized and awed beyond comprehension, drive to Swabi with your friends and family. A word of advice: check with the political situation before setting out. The place is partially controlled by WAPDA and the Armed Forces, and even the tiniest of hiccups could mean no-go for civilians.

I dont think it to be a good visiting place because youre not allowed to go to important points due to security requirements. Although its a main provider of electric power and water to different areas of Pakistan but still I dont consider it to be a better place for tourists.
