Sent an email, received a response back within 30 minutes answering my questions. Went in to drop off my job request. Representative was very nice and adv me of price and an estimate of when job would be completed. Technician who worked on my product adv would up date me on the job. Called me at specified time saying job was completed and could come pick up. Paid and left. Job was completed above my expectations. Also, they did more for less on what I was quoted by competitors.

Have used these guys over many years and cannot say enough good about them. In the age of buying everything online, which can be very disastrous, its nice to have a family owned brick and mortar shop to patronize my business with and to have local support. Theyre a prime example of local entrepreneurship done right.

I love these folks! Randy, Kevin and David are always very helpful, professional, kind and fast. They have kept my 12 year old Toshiba Monster laptop (2 hard drives) running like a striped snake. Ive been shopping at Allgen since 2004 and the staff here is incredible. And also the fact that they have the best inventory of used equipment in the city, makes it worth the trip over here for any parts or systems that we need. Their service department is excellent and ethical. The sales team knows their stuff and are not a bunch of dimwits pushing parts that arent compatible.

AllGen was really great! I didn’t realize that there was a computer store in the plaza off Babcock and Hamilton Wolfe but, the store was really great and complying with safety measures due to COVID-19 with curbside service. I gave them a call before coming by the store and the staff on the phone prepared some items for me to possibly purchase. A worker named Kevin (or Gavin) helped to find me a few used keyboards that I was looking for and the staff inside cleaned the keyboards nicely before handing them to me. I ended up buying two keyboards for a good price. Great local business! I plan on going to the store again.

After spending 4hrs driving around looking for quality laptops at a budget price I stumbled onto AllGen. Not only did they have what I needed, their customer service was beyond compare. I parked in front of their store preparing to go in until I saw curbside service only signs. I pull up the website to see if they had what I wanted, and before I could get to the home page, one of their employees came out to my vehicle to see if they could help me, without even being asked! He ran in and out a half dozen times answering questions and finding solutions and even made improvements to a used laptop! I purchased two laptops that I couldnt be happier with. I will definitely drive the extra couple mins to support these guys in the future. Ignore your big box stores. Do not, I repeat, do not sell your pcs here. Especially if they are quality pcs. Just tried to sell mine here and the power supply stopped working somehow. Got home my pc turned on just fine like it did before I went there. Not only that, my pc has top of the line parts in it, and they offered 480 for them... My cpu blows that price out of the water alone. I dont know about what they sell, and I dont care. A store thats this dishonest shouldnt even be on the radar. Funny, I definitely remember asking you if the dust could be causing it to power cycle, and you said no. Lets just be honest, and admit you were using a faulty outlet. I was on the phone with someone who runs their own IT business, and he warned me about it. I honestly didnt expect him to be right. But if thats how you wanna play innocent, by all means. Everyone, you have been warned.

What a hidden gem of a business! The wonderful folks who work there were so knowledgeable and helpful. I was purchasing my first ever laptop and had absolutely no idea of what was required to get up and running. They took care of everything and made sure I was going to be able to use the laptop. I accidentally broke the charging port on my computer and needed it fixed asap so I could meet a deadline for a class the following day and explained to him that it was an emergency and he was able to fix it the same day!

Curbside service was what I experienced and couldnt look for what I needed. Had to go elsewhere.

A serious top tier computer service and sales company. I needed help with assembling computer fans to a motherboard, I initially thought I needed a 3 pin extension cord. I bought 3 cords, realized I needed 4 pins. I was asked to bring in my computer, they realized there were wires tucked away that attach the fan controller to the fans. They offered to refund the wires that I bought and said I didnt need the extension cords. All without paying for anything.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. My husband is a disabled vet and got a printer from Allgen computers and it started having problems within a few months. We took in in since it was under warranty, and was told to bring the printing cable and power cable. They called and said it needed a colored ink cartridge to be able to diagnose. Took them one when I went back on that side of town to only be told there was nothing wrong. They loaded printer in car since Covid and upon arriving home we realized the printer cable was gone. I called immediately and left a message. My husband is unable to use printer from the home computer with out cable. Also, they left me a message to say they we never brought the cable. I tried to use it wirelessly from my laptop, but it still has the same problem as before. Such a waste of time! Looks like I will just buy a new one else where. Enjoy your contract with the VA!

I had my laptop and desktop looked at and it was a great experience. They advised me not to buy a new laptop and instead to upgrade just one part which made my laptop run extremely fast and saved me hundreds of dollars. They also gave me great deals and setup my desktop. Now both my desktop and laptop are lightning fast. These guys are awesome!!!

Ive been an AllGen customer since 2000 from when they were still in their old location. Much of their team are the same great folks and all the new staff are superb in their know how, awesome in their customer service and products! If anyone goes anywhere else to get advice or to buy a computer in San Antonio, thats just plain silly.

Recently started using this place as a default for my computer hardware and accessorie needs. Surprising inventory of high performance gaming peripherals. They also do custom PC builds tailored to not just your needs but your budget too.Staff is also crazy knowledgeable so theyve done me a great justice over having to go to places like Best Buy or Altex where its like pulling teeth to get help. Highly recommended if you need a one off part or cable.

It a really small though and they dont have much and what they do have can be bought cheaper elsewhere or online. Im sure they do a good job of fixing computers. I do as well. Superb customer service. I live in Florida but Im currently working in San Antonio. I just bought a new video card for my computer before realizing it required a separate power cable from the power supply which I couldnt find anywhere. I called Allgen and spoke with David who was extremely friendly. Although they didnt stock the specific cable I needed, he had some spare cables in the service department. He hooked it up, and used a voltage meter to make sure everything matched up. Definitely exceeded my expectations. Absolutely highly recommended for any computer needs! I shopped around their store for a few minutes and all of their prices seemed very reasonable!

5 stars isnt nearly enough! Trevor and Josh went above and beyond to solve my PCs serious boot issues. They not only quickly found the exact problem that I and Micro Centers repair team could not, but they tested every component in my PC to ensure that there were no other underlying issues and did extensive benchmarking to ensure its stability. They even overclocked my GPU for a bit of extra performance. Theyre true enthusiasts that treated my PC like it was their own, and truly cared about getting the job done completely right rather than simply getting it done well enough. My PC now perfectly stable and smoother and quieter than ever. Allgen overall is such a great shop with a welcoming and personal feel that you just cant get from any big store. Their selection is curated with a lot of love and care. I cannot recommend them enough for any component and repair needs - theyre amazing! Thanks guys.

If there was a way to give them negative stars I would.This operation does not know what they are doing. I dropped off my laptop for a Full Diagnostic even after I told them the keyboard was the only thing that wasnt working. When I went back to get it they told me nothing was wrong with it and they had to wipe out the passwords on it because obviously I had given them the wrong password. The password didnt work because the keyboard isnt working.So they had to order the keyboard and after 2 weeks I get it back and now they say the keyboard and the drive had to be replaced on a laptop that initially didnt have anything wrong with it.

Trevor helped me! I took in 4 laptops in varying degrees of age and distress. He quickly removed the drives, checked the viability, 3 of 4 can be backed up and data saved.4th may not work again. So, Trevor advised me on my most economical manner to harvest the data, they had the device I needed and I was on my way!All while being supervised and questioned by a very inquisitive 4 year old.Thank you so much, 5 stars is not enough!

Please stay away from this place!!!!! I’m sorry the lack of unprofessionalism from the owner in my reply couldn’t go unaddressed. Not sure what me having another 2080 ti has to do with anything but I guess you thought it was needed. And if you’re buying used parts I know you’d test them out before buying them so if you’re worried about how they were treated then stop buying used parts for low and selling them for more then retail to your customers. I know you get a warranty for parts atleast that’s what an employee told me and just like you guys do when you buy used cards I look on eBay to see how much I can sale my cards for so I’m not sure how you got that I wanted “top dollar” for my card... I just wasn’t taking $400.

Called them with a slightly complex problem with a simple solution, they were able to get me in fast, took care of me very quickly and were incredibly knowledgeable, yet understood, that I too was also a nerd, so did not hesitate to talk tech with me, nor did they talk to me like I knew nothing. I /HIGHLY/ respect that! and I appreciate it immensely. They also took great care to not damage the custom paint job we have on our case while working. I do not live in the US, and its impossible to get good computer components here. Sue and Josh at Allgen worked with me to build an excellent computer and get it delivered to me in perfect shape.The system was exactly what I wanted. It was put together very professionally and well tested. They were extremely helpful during the process.I do not think you could go wrong working with Allgen.

Very knowledgeable repair department. I was in over my head with a hard disk to solid state drive shrink/clone/swap that just wasnt going like all the YouTube videos said it would. Even my brother the programmer couldnt figure out what was going on. At the recommendation of another shop that didnt want to touch it, I called Allgen. Oh, yeah, we do those all the time. Had me fixed up in a day for about $90 less than a Geek Squad visit would have cost.

First rate service, Josh was super approachable and patiently explained the ins and outs of my technical questions (which for me was a LOT). This is one of the Good-To-the-Core Stores that does right by the customer. Other places might shove useless equipment on you, but these guys will find the best solution at lowest price, demonstrate it in store so you know it works perfectly, how to hook it all up, make sure you understand it (For me that meant they went the extra mile to download drivers to demonstrate a Wacom tablet I was also looking at purchasing)

Very nice place to find older/used computer components. They also offer a variety of packages for any need you may have from building a basic workstation to top of the line gaming computer. There is a bunch of options from video cards to moniters all neatly labeled and to help you find exactly what you need.

I was looking for a resistor late on a Friday evening and Altex was no help. I happened to remember Allgen Computers that used to be located behind University Bowl. I called them and not only did they have the resistor they stayed open past closing time allowing me to make it there. Then David Allen spoke with me about my issue with a circuit board and ended up soldering in the resistor for me. The friendly service they provided will have me coming back for years to come.

I had an issue with 2 computers that failed last night simultaneously. I got up there at 315pm today and explained what the issues. I explained that since they were older DELLS, I didnt want to pay more than about $50.00 for solutions for BOTH systems. Josh was INCREDIBLE. He listened to what I had to say, diagnosed the problem, gave me inexpensive, viable options and told me he could squeeze me in. His IT guy, Jeremy got it done in no time at all. He was very competent. So for $58.00 TOTAL, I have my system(s) up and running again within 2 hours. UNREAL. Great customer service, inventory and prices. AND....the store is SPOTLESS clean. I am not an employee, or some fanboy, so, I am telling you the truth. I am now a lifelong customer. Thanks again guys!! Keep up the great work!!!

Fantastic experience! Family owned business, I dealt with the sister and brother who are managers. The sister (I believe her name is Susan) is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I got a great price on a 620W power supply ($59) and help with how to install it.
