My recent passion to travel through railways is turning to be a great experience. Rawalpindi station was clean, well managed and polite and well behaved staff. The main hall or booking area needs immediate attention in terms of cleaning and it appears unfair to charge money for the use of washrooms at a public facility like railway booking area.

A commendable facility for travelers to get desire destination with pakistan railway but internal cleanness and standard need to be upgraded. Staff need to be trained well to welcome passengers with customer service and greetings. Security concerns screenings check ups wasnt fulfilled according to SOP. Due to covid-19 masks were also avoided which can seriously effect the health of passengers.

One of the most busiest railway stations in Pakistan. Railway station has clean environment but they need to update the entrance gate at Rawalpindi railway station. Entrance is crowded as people have to wait a lot to get their baggage scanned through the scanner. Scanner is super slow and they need to increased number of scanners on entrance to avoid crowd on entrance.

This stations now serves both cities Rawalpindi and Islamabad, built by North Western Railway (NWR) for this garrison town. Trains for all over Pakistan pass over here till Karachi. Many short distance routes originated from here for KPK and Punjab small town, cities. An old black coal engine is placed outside this station as a land mark. It is located in Cantt. area of Rawalpidi.

Railway station at Rawalpindi is quite old and small. Being a junctions and the main Railways station of the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, it has quite a large number of trains serving the area. However, it is still quite small compared to Lahore. Its building is historical and the facade has been maintained nicely. There is also an old coal vintage engine kept outside the main building for viewing.

This is Rawalpindi railway junction which is conducted a lot of passengers in this region, one thing is little bit bad and which is bad adminstration of this station. They are not follow the rules and irritate or miss behaved with visitors and miss use the own authority. Like administrators are always vehicles parked wrong paths or below the no parking signs, which is strictly prohibited only for others nor staff or administrators. But this is neat and clean station.

I have been traveling from Rawalpindi to Lahore since 2010, during my University tenure. Rawalpindi railway is a bit smaller than Lahore railway station, but it is the cleanest railway station of pakistan. There are around 4 to 5 platforms. The Newly built seatings are comfortable.
