Excellent initiative by govt of tracking your parcel. I went to send a parcel to my friend in faisalabad and it weighs 7.4 kg. Tcs and leopard courier are charging 1700 for this but at post office i gave 250 for packing and 450 for delivery. Staff is cooperative and very much trained.Very huge building and i must recommend everybody to use post office services instead of tcs or leopard courier.

Very competent staff, excellent packing for parcels are nominal charges.The good thing is they have resumed posting medicine ( less bottles, Injection). I recently posted two parcel containing medicine, any Pvt courier wouldve coated me 1200 rupees for both, but they took 425.Delivery time for ums is comparable to any Carrier.I recommend to use these services to benefit the national cause and to save money

2 counters working while rest are resting, wait in line for UMS for 15-20min so we would just let you know to goto last counter after that they will tell you to unpack your parcel, once youre done they will say go inside the gpo and take our box which costs 70-100rs for no reason maybe they dont like your packing, get it packed get back, wait in line get the tickets, get in line again and then it will be accepted, very swift and easy service by Pakistan post, very impressed!

I wish there could be a system to give a negative remarks about any of the place...i mean such a pathetic experience i had there, truely third class service and landlord mafia type of people can be seen everywhere. people are there behaving like the hell man :/well nobody was there to give you information, even such nobody was there to properly assist you or listen hour queries... and barely gonna say that nobody was there to listen or report the complains as well :( :/will never gonna there again !totally waste of time and energy.

Well, I think their logistics has improved. I had a pleasant experience, it was my first though. An official asked me to send him the details of my parcel and the he’ll get back to me with logistics info, as on that day the post man was already out for delivery. Quite helpful, I’m impressed.

I’m not sure which one to rate lower out of the two government departments: customs or Pakistan post.From time to time I get parcels/packages from my friends or others from overseas. The experience is always the same. For one the tracking service is horrible. I am always able to track a package till such time it enters Pakistan. Once it arrives locally, the package just disappears. One has to call multiple phone numbers to get the status of the package and there in begins the turf war. I am repeatedly told that I have a called the wrong number and I should be calling another department. Then all of a sudden the package appears out of nowhere and I’m given just one day to rush to the post office to pay the customs otherwise they would be all sorts of consequences. You call the helpline and the information you are given does not match up with the way the parcel is progressing. By the way you’d be very lucky if somebody comes online at the help desk. then questions have to be answered for the customs officer Including the harmonized code that a normal citizen has no idea about. The taxes end up being more than the cost of the object. I pity Captain Imran Khan and his dreams for a new Pakistan. I’m sure he’s very sincere but nothing can be done unless you change the character than morality of the people. How is he going to do that?

I booked an item on 24 may, 19 for Gawadar. Item yet no delivered after passing 10 days. I called many times at call centre and different tel nos but no tel number was attended. Very very poor service of pak post.

No parking outside GPO and traffic police makes lot of money from cars parked on road as there is no parking.Staff at GPO not cooperative at all. Govt employees attitude of doing nothing can easily be seen at this GPO. Timing of token tax is 9:00am to 03:00pm but they dont entertain after 02:30pm

Pakistan Post is improving rapidly in service. While TCS was quoting me Rs. 560 for an Overnight 1 kg parcel to Gujranwala, PakPost did the same in Rs. 150 through its UMS and faster. I booked the shipment at 7:15 pm and it was delivered the next day at 11:30 am. The staff was also helpful.A couple of suggestions: PakPost should move to digital pre-paid stamps instead of the current type of stamps that have to be manually pasted using glue. Also, tracking should also show the Delivered to detail, currently it stops at Dispatched to Delivery Office.

Worldwide letters and cargo is also dealt here. Money order facility provided. Huge building with all basic facilities. Reasonable canteen inside the building is provided.

I went there today to deliver letters to family. I thought it was a pretty amazing experience because it seemed like I stepped back in time into the 1860s. It was a big old building and there wasn’t even AC. It was a little disorganized and I hope my letters get delivered to the destination. But if anyone wants to experience a little bit of history then I suggest a take a trip to the post office.

I went to Islamabad GPO to deposit token fee for my car. I was told by the clerk at the reception to line up in a queue for senior citizens as there was no token system for seniors. It took me exactly one hour in queue to reach the counter and I was near to collapse and fell down due to weakness and prolonged standing. In 21st century this is the condition of the GPO of Islamabad; the capital city of the country. How difficult is it to develop a simple token & sitting system at least for elderly people, for a counter of a Dak Khana? Someone rightly said; Pakistan is a country of disorganized and dumb people who cant change, develop or invent anything for betterment of their life.

Cheapest place in town to send mail and goods. And their UMS service is also good. Never disappointed by it.

GPO Saddar Rawalpindi is usually very busy and overcrowded. It provides urgent mail services across the country and its reliable too. You can get services of persons outside the GPO for From filling and letter writings.
