Markazi Jamia Masjid, is a marvelous exapmle of architectural triumph. The mosque is embellished with fine art work and intricate tile work and detailed frescos  in vibrant colors which have stood the test of time.The mosques exterior has deteriorated over the years, however the interior is still splendid. Construction of Jamia Masjid began in 1903 under the orders of Afghanistans exiled prince, Shah Muhammed Ayub Shairaz Haider, and was completed in 1905.It has also a unique feature that a cleric or any other person speaking at one end of the mosque can be heard at the other end.

Amazing masjid very accessible fills up quickly, about 3 to 4 rows in first section after imam. The area outside is frequently used and a lot of people who are employed at or own local businesses come here. The area outside the mosque is not very clean and or is prepared for prayer on a regular basis.Nice architecture.Could be made nicer cleaner outside after all it is a mosque we are all using. This mosque is among the one of oldest mosques in Pakistan. Probably 150 years old. A beautiful architecture piece. The prayer of Friday (Jumma) is held at 2:30 Pm throughout the whole year and it never changes. Outside the masjid is traditional Rawalpindi Jamia masjid road and there are many shops of Sewing machines.
