Kalma Chowk is on the southern side of Rawalpindi Sadar, straight from the GPO Chowk to Chungi, number 22, and again straight to Kalam Chouk. It is about 4 km from Rawalpindi Sadar and about 2 km from Chungi, number 22. Traffic signals have recently installed the chowk but still have a very crowded place, especially in the morning and evening times. There number of banks in the vicinity like Faisal Bank, Askri Bank, Allied Bank, UBL, Bank Alflah, and many business activities. The area has frenchises of Ufone, Jazz, and Telenor. Moderate level restaurants and dhabas sell food at a reasonable price and quality. Recently Rahat Bakers have brought their setup to this place, whereas some local bakers and sweet shops also provide good quality foodstuff. If you are coming from Rawalpindi Sadar, a right turn leads you to Dhok Sayendan, Chur Chouk, Baraf Khana, etc. Right tunes lead you to Misryal, Adyala Road, etc., straight to Dhamyal Camp, Chakri Road, and Chakris interchange of M2 motorway. The way to the motorway is fair enough to travel at moderate speed and takes about 40 -60 minutes to complete 38 km distances from Kalma Chowk, depending upon the days traffic and time. You can find several gas stations/ petrol pumps and convenience stores on the way to the motorway.

A connecting road from this square has been planned to connect this chowk to the motorway and was supposed to be the entry and exit of M2 motorway but the planned has either been ditched or postponed since a long time. Presently the chowk is a marketplace adorned with many branches of the major banks and other shopping facilities. It is jammed most of the time as one road from here leads to Dhamial camp where new societies and many new settlements have mushroomed without expansion in the existing road infrastructure so long traffic jams or slow moving traffic is a routine matter. Otherwise it is just a normal place and nothing of attraction exist in the vicinity.
