Army Medical College was established at Rawalpindi in 1977 as a residential institution. The College was initially affiliated with Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad for the award of MBBS degree. The first batch of MBBS course comprising 100 students graduated in 1981 and the college was recognized by GMC-UK. It became a constituent College of NUST in 1998.

I loved this place but now I am very sad because my daughter wants to study in this college but when we are informed about the details of paying cadets that only army families can apply for this she became very very sad .I have no words to describe her sadness .She cried for days and weeks . She has recently given the paper of SSC part 2 . After reading this information she became hopeless .She really wants to become an army captain doctor thats why Im giving this college three stars for this reason that this college is only for army families lam very disappointed from Pak army . But still I love Pak army . Pakistan Zindabad as well as Pak army

I went to visit the NUMS affairs office at the college to inquire about the House-job induction schedule. I was amazed to witness such an amazingly built college in the city, my first visit. Every corner was polished and shiny! There is plenty of green space in the vicinity, helping to keep the temperature in check on warm days. Great experience! The staff was quite helpful and welcoming!

Sure, it is one of the best medical institutions. It has all the modern facilities for the graduates to learn as the college is having access to all the facilities. But, pity is that most of the seats are for Armed Forces and few seats are for NUST which is again a semi military organization. There should be 30% seats for the private students who are on merits. I hope the management will look in to this and provide opportunity to civil sector also.
