Just opposite to Raiwind Railway Station. Experienced to eat Raan Rost there. The food was well cooked with neat and clean environment. Staff is very co operative. Very economical charges. Highly recommended. Around 25km from Thokar on Raiwind Road. Road condition is good and secure.

G Qurban Shinwari Restaurant – Raan! Chapli Kebab! Namkeen Karahi! Duumba! One of the only places serving Authentic Peshawari (or Pukhtoon) cuisine in Lahore, they are Located in Raiwand Bazar opposiite Railway Station. Almost a mini Peshawar this Bazar would make any Pathan homesick; be it a grocery shop or a restaurant almost every shop was run by a Pukhtoon (no offense meant – we love our Pathan brothers)!A very insistent recommendation led Hunger therapy members to try the restaurant’s Raan (thigh) so we called them 3 hours before and Ordered 4 Thighs. Each Thigh weighed about 2.5 kg with a very reasonable cost of Rs.1800/kg; each thigh could easily serve 3 to 4 people.They started off by serving Raita, Salad and Imli/Anar Dana Chatni (tangilicious). Out of regular meat (No meat on Wednesdays in Lahore) they could not provide Chappli Kebabs so we ordered Karahi! Fun part – they offered two types of Karhai: Sulemani dry namkeen peshawari style Karahi and Masala Karahi cooked in Tomatoes – we ordered Sulemani Karahi. Before you start making assumptions the meat here was specifically Dumba (sheep)!The Raan was served with Kabuli Pulao. Tender and juicy, the Raan was every bit as luscious as its aroma promised, especially the masala it was marinated in; would make you drool! X-factor – Kabuli Pulao! True Afghani flavors – it was a perfect combo.The Raans had left us full to the brim and we were wondering whether the Karahi could go untouched :P. But trust us once you go there you come out with your tummies hanging out of your pants ;) The karahi was delicioooouuusss! And the Kandhari Naan they served it with… Na.. can’t define the taste! Just to put it in plain words; a simple kandhari naan with tea would make you crave for more!Wait! this was not all; they still had a card up their sleeves! Peshawari Qehwa with Pieces of Gur (Jaggery) and Lemon. Blissful; the drink served as a neutralizer for our bursting tummies! Certainly calmed our insides!This was one hell of a day; every single bite of the food was Paradisiacal!So what If you can’t travel to Peshawar! This Mini Peshawar in Raiwind will ease your yearning for Pure Pukhtoon Food.Don’t forget to mention that it was Hunger therapy who gave the recommendation! Restaurant with all the meat options, Especially Dunmba Karahi, Mutton Chanp BBQ All more you can like traditionally.Table service is available, No such advance bookings required but you have to wait for delicious dishes and it will compensate when come to taste.Dinner timings are best to visit but there is rush on Thursday and Friday nights.plan accordingly.

Nice food but surroundings not so good

Their lamb roast with Afghani pulao is a stand out. Also called Lamb Mandi. Awesome. Rest of the items are mostly available in Lahore so no need to travel for dumba/ lamb karahi to raiwind. But a must try. Dont forget to order 3-4 hours before you plan to go.
