Non-availability of medical aid instantly made her unconscious. She was rushed to Agerton Hospital where the facilities were scanty. Unable to deal with her injuries, she was shifted to the Royal Artillery Hospital now called Combined Military Hospital (or CMH) Peshawar, where she was given proper treatment. The immense impact of this incident on her made it imperative to construct a hospital. On the retirement of Lord Reading in 1926, she came to Peshawar from Delhi and campaigned to construct a standard hospital in place of Agerton Hospital. She donated Rs.52,000. (Fifty-two thousand) for the construction. This new hospital was subsequently named Lady Reading Hospital.Later on, the hospital was given into status of District Headquarters hospital with 150 beds and in 1930 it was a 200-bed hospital. Doctor Khan Bahadur Abdul Samad Khan became the first Medical Superintendent of the hospital. Doctor Muhammad Ayaz Khan was appointed the first Administrator of the hospital in 1973. This hospital became affiliated to Khyber Medical College in 1955 with medical, surgical, ENT, Eye, and T.B. wards. According to a 2008 estimate, its out-patient clinic sees above 2500 patients per day and the casualty cases at the Accidents and Emergency department number more than 1500 or 1800 per day.

MTI hispitals were the extension of old government hospitals. Developed under the medical teaching institute(MTI) act passed by provencial government of KPK.In this development new buildings and new facikuties were developed to provide private hospitals like facilites to public by increasing payment charges of health services and hiring contractual high paid doctors.

Today I visited Lady Reading Hospitals Peshawar out door patients block. I found the services quite satisfactory as there was a proper sitting area for those who were waiting for their appointments. Also, the appointment counters were multiple in numbers each having a proper que in front of it. The presence of on duty doctors was also satisfactory.I was informed that the hospital has also started a kind of private clinics in which doctr having repeatedly high professional skills are going to attend the patients.

Very crowded. Hospital is trying their best. Doctors are professional and sympathetic. Management is a nightmare and bunch of amateurs. Some patient attendants are also aggressive with staff.

No token system or emergency patients priority especially for heart or kidney problems. The doctors should be proactive to deal with patients of heart or kidney problems. This was CMH PESHAWAR cantt. She thought there should be a hospital for public where she felt from her horse so her husband Mr reading planned to construct a hospital. Visited LRH for neurosurgeon a week ago doctors behavior toward patient was not good as it should be. Doppler Ultrasound staff specially the fatty guy setting in front of Doppler room no 17 was treating patients very rudely. I don’t have words to explain that how harshly he treated patients. Overall I am very disappointed from staff and administration.
