A piece of muslim cultural heritage and a divine place. Evenings or cold weather is recommended for visit. Otherwise, multans temprature can be difficult to bear. There are different shrines inside qila. It is slightly on top and the view of city is beautiful. There are tuc shops, big gardens in surroundings. Be careful and wear masks. The place is croweded and general carelessness observed.
Very beautiful shrine. I would say the most beautiful and lively shrine in Multan. There are other gems as well, but this one surpassed others in its beauty, architecture and scenic beauty.
No words. V beautiful
Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya Multani, was a Sufi saint and poet who established the Suhrawardiyya order of Baghdad in medieval South Asia, later becaming one of the most influential spiritual leaders of his era.Hazrat Bahaudin Multani is a very well known Wali Allah ..... His shrine was given a new look in the period of Munghals and thus both the tombs i.e SHAH RUKHN E ALAM and BAHAUDIN ZAKRIYA are of same architecture and design .
One of the Pious and great personalities of Islam. I am really strange what I felt inside the Holy Tomb. I have no exact and accurate words to explain my feelings while visiting there. There was Jalal which I felt first time in my life and that Jalal really overpowered my heart and my thoughts. And this Jalal I never felt at any Darbar. Perhaps after the age of 40, you start to feel the nature and its things in their true perspective and you seem as nature is talking to you and you are feeling real purposes of the creation of Universe. As I entered the Darbar Sharif, at once the Jalal overpowered me. May Allah raise his ranks millions times and may Allah lead us towards the path of righteous.
The Shrine of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya used to resemble quite closely that of Hazrat Shah Rukn-e-Alam. In fact, Shah Rukn was the grandson of Hazrat Bahauddin. So, in essence, the shrine of Bahauddin Zakariya was the real thing and that of Shah Rukn had mirrored it. Yet, during the siege of Multan in 1848, the merciless, senseless British colonial lords - in their complete disregard for civilization, decency, cultural heritage and human rights - bombed the original shrine. This speaks immensely of the savages that the British colonists were. Their contribution to destruction of world cultural heritage is of legendary proportions. Google more about this stuff.Anyway, the shrine of Bahauddin was eventually rebuilt. And I think it truly shows the transition in local architecture. Look at the Shah Rukn shrine. That is indigenous Multan architecture. By the time the Bahauddin shrine was re-built, Persian and Central Asian influences had seeped into local architecture. The Bahauddin shrine, therefore, is markedly different from that of Shah Rukh.At any rate, the Bahauddin shrine is a spectacular representation of the finest mid-19th century architecture of the Multan region.Go there and look at the two shrines in a comparative way. Let me know what you think!
Good place for few time spind and sufi azaim
This is Shrine of Bahauddin Zakariya Multani (Urdu بہاؤ الدین زکریا درگاہ). It is a 13th-century shrine located in the city of Multan, in Pakistans Punjab province. What a great and historical religious place
Baha-ud-din Zakariya (Urdu and Persian: بہاؤ الدین زکریا) (c.1170 – 1262), also spelled Bahauddin Zakariya, and also known as Baha-ul-Haq and Bahauddin Zakariya Multani, was a Sunni Muslim scholar, Sufi saint and poet who established the Suhrawardiyya order of Baghdad in medieval South Asia, later becoming one of the most influential spiritual leaders of his era.Place is well managed, security is tight and its kept clean.
Its architecture is a beautiful legacy. However, sad to see the graves of Aulia Karaam converted into de facto money hoarding business hotspots. Everyone will narrate an unverified but attractive story to exact money from you. Beware of such verbal hypnosis!
The spiritual wave you get from Bahawal Haq is hard to explain in words....
Tomb of Hazrat Baha ul Din Zakria is situated from a furlong of Shah Rukan e Alam tomb near Qasim Park (Qila Qasim) . There is a well (Percian wheel) belonging to Hazrat Baha ul Din Zakria .There is no water there now. It has iron locked frame on the well. People put currency notes as Nazrana into this well. Inside the shrine there are two joint graves of Hazrat Baha ul Din Zakria and his son Hazrat Sadar ul Din Arif. Hundreds od people came daily and offer Nazrana and humage. This is 30 feet above the city streets. This tomb has two gates ,front gate toeards Qasim Park and the other gate is on back side (Andron Shehar). Peoples buy things from belonging shops and serve it as Tabaruk. Peoples tie thread and bangles to fullfill their wishes (Mannats).

Sheikh Baha-ud-din Zakariya Multani who initiated the Sufi order Shurawardiyah in Sub-continent was born in 1170. His paternal grandfather who originally belonged to Qureshi tribe of Makkah migrated from Khwarazim to Multan while his maternal grandfather shifted to Multan during Mongol invasions. When he was twelve years old his father died. He left for Khurasan where he stayed for five years and completed his spiritual and temporal education. Then he moved to Bukhara and later to Hijaz. He served in Masjid-e-Nabvi for five years and acquired education of Hadith from Kamal-ud-din Yamini. Later he went to Baghdad and under Sheikh-ul-Shauookh Shahab-ud-din Shurawardi accomplished his spiritual training and became his khalifah (chief disciple). Sheikh assigned his duty at Multan. He preached Islam to every class of society including kings and paupers. Although Nasir-ud-din Kabacha was the ruler of Multan, Sheikh Zakariya favored Shams-ud-din Iltumish who was a man of noble character, This offended Kabacha but later he also began to revere him.Bahauddin Zakariya passed away on 21 December 1262. His mausoleum presenting a unique style of architecture is a prime attraction of the fort area in Multan. The main source of higher education for Multan has been named as Bahauddin Zakariya University.

Hadrat Bahauddin Zakariyya Multani (Alayhir Rahmah) was born on Friday, 27th Ramadan al-Mubarak, 566 A.H. corresponding to 3rd June 1171 in Kot Karor (Muzaffar Garh District, Punjab, Pakistan). He traveled to Khurasan, Bukhara, Arab Sharif etc., for gaining academic and spiritual branches of knowledge. He was privileged to become Mureed (disciple) of Sayyiduna Shaykh Shahabuddin Umar Suharwardi (Alayhir Rahmah) who granted him Khilafat only after 17 days.As soon as He arrived in Multan, he started the noble act of preaching Islam and did exemplary services for the reform of an individual and the society. A Khanqah was built where everyone would be treated equally. People would come, stay and attain the blessings of His blessed company; they would also purify their hearts. He also established an organised institution (University) where scholars and experts in different languages were appointed and paid decent salaries and boarding facilities for teaching in it.For preaching Islam, there was a properly organised department for the training of preachers in which the languages of different regions were also taught. In order to make these preachers self-sufficient they would be sent with trade goods. They would be given training in such a way that the buyers, after being impressed by their excellent courtesy and impeccable social interaction, would embrace Islam. He (Alayhir Rahmah) left this mundane world on 7th Safar al-Muzaffar, 661 A.H. corresponding to 21st December 1262. His blessed shrine is located in Madinat-ul-Awliya Multan Sharif, Pakistan

Abu Muhammad Bahauddin Zakariya, later known simply as Bahauddin Zakariya, was born around 1170 CE in Kot Kehror (now known as Karor Lal Esan), a town near the ancient city of Multan, in the southern part of the Punjab province of modern Pakistan. His grandfather, Shah Kamal-ud-Din Ali Shah Qureshi, had arrived in Multan from Mecca, Arabia while en route to the Khwarezm region of Central Asia.Bahauddin Zakariya descended from the lineage of Asad Ibn Hashim, and was hence a Hashmi, or direct descendent of the same clan lineage as the Prophet Muhammad. The renowned Kurdish-Persian Sufi master Shahab al-Din Abu Hafs Umar Suhrawardi of Baghdad awarded Zakariya the spiritual title Caliph in Baghdad, and then assigned him back to the Multan region,For fifteen years, Zakariya travelled to different cities in southern Punjab, where the order was able to attract large numbers of converts from Hinduism.Zakariya finally settled in Multan in 1222.Under his influence, Multan became known as Baghdad of the East, and is referred by Zakariya in his Persian :Multan ma ba jannat ala barabaraAhista pa ba-nah ke malik sajda mi kunad.(Multan of ours is comparable to the great Paradise, Tread slowly, the angels are paying obeisance here.)Zakariya became a vocal critic of Multans ruler at the time, Nasir-ud-Din Qabacha, and sided with Iltutmish, the Mamluk Sultan of Delhi when he overthrew Qabacha in 1228.Zakariyas support was crucial for Iltutmishs victory, and so he was awarded the title Shaikh-ul-Islam by Iltutmish to oversee the states spiritual matters, in gratitude for his support. Zakariya was also granted official state patronage by the Sultan.During his lifetime, Zakariya befriended Lal Shahbaz Qalandar - a widely revered Sufi saint from Sindhs, and founder of the Qalandariyyaorder of wandering dervishes. As Shaikh-ul-Islam, Zakariya was able to assuage orthodox Muslims, who were offended by the Lal Shahbaz Qalandars teachings.[8] Zakariya, and Shahbaz Qalandar, together with Baba Fariduddin Ganjshakar of the Chisti order, and Zakariyas disciple Syed Jalalauddin Bukhari, became part of the legendary Haq Char Yaar, or Four friends group, which is highly revered among South Asian Muslims.
