I stayed in Syed Hostel for 3 months back in Nov 97 after staying in the Ali continental hotel in mozang i had to leave the hotel after i was getting blackmailed from the receptionist in the hotel wanting to marry me because i am from the UK. Anyway back in 97, I am sure the rent was only around 1200 rupees a month. I made some good friends that stayed in the hostel. my room was 33-b. I had a big madhuri dixit poster in my room , i enjoyed the food upstairs in the canteen. especially the mixed veg . aloo gajar peas. . Once i beat up the phone operator guy downstairs because he wasnt dialling my international call after asking him several times. he phoned the police and had to pay a settlement to him to drop the charges. met the owner a couple of times i remember him Mr Syed. . He was a nice man very strict but kept an eye on everything made sure everything was ok in the hostel. Made a friend zahid he stayed on the ground level , he was from Rahim yaar khan, he was studing for his cssi . quite a character he was reminded me of Mr Bean. . lol. But have some good memories of staying in this hostel i went to lahore for 6 months back in 97 season to play cricket for muslim gymkhana. i was 19 at the time. Lahore is changed since then i went last 4 years ago. its very populated now.

Worst experience, no cleanliness, cats poop lying in the corridors of hostel, rooms are full of cockroaches within the old wooden beds, the window is welded and plastic packed from outside so no ventilation, dirty water standing in front of room. The worst staff, specially the manager and the owner imran gillani who don’t cooperate, people from outside using hostel washrooms, and it is not a boys hostel, every kind of old and lofer people are given rooms. Never make the mistake to pay the rent here.

They were best 2 decades ago, but now due to cleanliness of other hostels they rank in bottom. New hostels have more facilities and better service.

Nice place

One of the oldest, most economical and disciplined environment. It is suitable for students, young professionals and in particular the ladies. If someone is looking for independent room with privacy and noise free environment this is the most suitable place.

Mess is the only good thing here besides silence,but,the admin is really treacherous.Will add the bills of previous months in your bill,saying,it was your. The manager was so cheap.Can be improved if the management is changed.

There is no mess available. You can afford a single room at the cost of 4500 rupees per month. It is 0.7 miles away from Secretariat Metro Bus Station.

Its an nice but old hostel. There single rooms are ok. Its well secured, has own kitchen with Rs.4k package for 3 time meal.
