I am a Dental Student in deMontmorency College of Dentistry. My institution is collaborated with King Edward Medical University so my classes of some subjects are held here. The buildings are according to old taste but they are well maintained and well furnished. The buildings are historical. I really love studying here.

Theres no place on earth greater than this university. I spent the prime of my life here, it nurtured me, taught me and made me something I could never be on my own. I graduated from this university and I have found it be my home. The time spent here, the years went by here, they will always be an ever glowing memory in the dark abyss of life.

For freshers!! The building and the slogan of “Number 1” associated with the name entices almost every single pre medical student of Punjab!! Many hearts have longings for this the best called medical university of Pakistan (excuse me AKU) with the architecture having majestic antiquity and the fame one gets among friends and relatives on getting an aggregate high enough to synchronise with the merit of KEMU is inexplicable!! But these are the charms from a distance the university really lags behind none in case of extra and co- curricular activities but for the first year medicos it takes sometime to understand the basic way of study! You need to understand you’ve to study by yourself!! The HOD of physio is comparatively good in delivering lectures, the anatomy department is better in their teaching methods (excepting those for GENERAL ANATOMY tho) and the HOD delivers lecs on embryology, hmm fine ones!! But coming to biochemistry they’ll just read slides!!! In short you need to know you have to study by yourself to keep pace with the toppers!! You have to since beginning know that gross anatomy is not the only subject to prepare since you’re kept busy with its vivas and stages you just start thinking it’s the only imp or maybe ‘only’ subject you’ve to prepare!!! In the end you get to know about weightage of the subjects !!! Patiala block is bit too good for the freshers so they are made to study in LTS like those of physiology and anatomy department {those who know, know it all ;) }

Visiting Alma mater is Always nostalgic.Passed some fantastic moments with Worthy VC and my friend Prof Ejaz.Offered Jumma Prayers and remained Thankful to Al mighty Allah.Long live KE.

I think King Edward Medical Collage is one of the most outstanding medical college.If you will study from here you will become a qualified doctor or surgeon.

I think its oldest institution but it definitely needs to reform its campus. And if you have to do some clerical work, you will have to run all day around the campus.

There are some serious errors on the website which has not been updated as well since long. Under notable alumnis picture is of Dr. Tariq Jamil and name written is of Dr. Israr Ahmad. Dr. Faisal Masood is still mentioned as Vice chancellor. Again on bottom of home page, more pictures of notable alumni has pictures of different buildings of KEMU rather than Alumnis. About 75% students in medical colleges are females. With passage of time this percentage is increasing. It is very unfortunate that we are leaving this stressful but important health profession to weak humanity, who are not prepared. 25% leave the profession after MBBS to save their family. 50% Lady doctors try to join the light department like pathology and radiology. As a result these departments are flooded with female doctors. On the other hand departments with acute emergency suffering shortage. In periphery most of female posts are vacant.We are sleeping; will wake up only when there will be crises.
