I wanted to get a faded panel redone. This panel was done by 3s, they use poor quality lacquer. It is thin, scratches and stains easily.I was told DuPont paint would be used along with DuPont lacquer.Now after 3 months the paint was so soft it would easily scratch. It had no shine and was wavy. Paint grain was fatter and I was told it would reduce in size as it cured. It never did.I took the car to a friends workshop. It is far which us why I didnt go there in the first place. the paint was sanded and compound polish as much as it could because a lot of the lacquer had evaporated. There was not much room to correct the paint more. However I didnt believe them, everyone lies.I myself asked around about prices of DuPont paint. The amount I was charged by automania, no way they could have used all DuPont. In short they cheaped out on the paint. I saw another freshly painted jeep using DuPont color and another imported company lacquer. Huge difference in finish and paint wasnt as soft as mine.I am no better off than I was before. Have cheap lacquer, it scratches easily. The shine is not crisp. The paint is wavy even after paint correction. This is not orange peal but it is Urethane wave, too much paint is used and not applied correctly between layers. I was told that they redid the paint from bare metal. But when you knock on the trunk it feels thick, alot of primer or puty was used. Overall not happy with the paint finish. This place came recommended, but for me result was poor.I would have gladly paid more for quality. But now I know what to look for in paint.
