It was a great experience having dinner at Sumo. Their Tapanyaki was great and Sushi was also very good but I think there are better options for Sushi. Ambiance was amazing and it was pretty crowded. Id recommend that one make a reservation before going there. Overall it was a good experience!

Went to Gulberg branch for lunch .Food was as usual very good. Tried Rainbow Roll and Spicy Salmon. Both were good but my personal preference is Rainbow. The best thing was the SOPs were being strictly followed. Servers wearing shields etc. Courteous staff. And beautiful shady patio to spend a lazy winter afternoon with fam/friends .

Much ado about nothing. I had heard such a great deal about this restaurant, however, I could not find out what was the fuss about!!!!!!!Nothing more than an average restaurant. It is basically a Japanese restaurant but does not come even close to Fujiyama of Avari.Starting from the location till food, it was a big let down. The restaurant is situated in a narrow lane of Gulberg behind Mandarin Kitchen. Parking is a headache and difficult to find. There are no proper parking arrangements although Valet is available. However, handing over your car to a valet during COVID-19 is a big issue for me. We tried beef, fish and chicken along with Sushi. The food was average with fish being below average. We ordered Red Snapper and the fish was smelling. All the effort had been made to down the smell with strong garlic which was miserably failing. I hope my stomach remains OK.The complimentary dessert was the only bright spot. It was tasty, fresh and hit the spot. When we requested for another serving of dessert, we were told that it is one serving per table, no matter how many persons are sitting on the table. It is a joke. We had joined two tables but still got one serving whereas, our neighbouring tables(s) had 8 persons and they still got one serving. We were lucky we were smaller in number.

Dubin Moshi 5/10Teppanyaki 8/10dessert (complimentary) 4/10I had made a reservation and they confirmed that it was at 9pm. Showed up to have this lady say you must have made it at defence branch. I did not! I was in my senses when i called the GULBERG branch.Anyhow, the view into the kitchen from the teppanyaki counter was unpleasant. The place looked shoddy, COVID precautionary measures were not being followed, food and desserts were being left uncovered for quite a while before serving. The only saving grace: the fantastic chef who made my teppanyaki.I will go back for the teppanyaki. Maybe it would look cleaner during daytime.

Has one of the best ambience in Lahore. Really a high end formal dinning place!Complementary drinks and dessert served if you go in group of 2 or 3.Dynamite prawns are to die for Coupled with Hibatchi Tepenyaki. Extremely expensive thoughThey messed up our bill in the end. Charged us extra for the rice served with the Tepenyaki, hence the 4 stars.

I live abroad and am very familiar with Japanese cuisine and have had it some of the best Japanese food around the world. Sumo has done a pretty good job with its food. I wouldn’t say it is authentic Japanese cuisine, rather it’s more fusion. But still a very enjoyable experience none the less.

I am not an expert on Japanese cuisine so cannot say how authentic is the food was but it tasted good! Price is on the expensive side. Staff is courteous and service level is good.

Last nights exploits at Sumo: Miso soup - Nice - Weve had better - But finely done just the same. The complimentary desserts we got were a nice touch. The mouse was splendid. So, main takeaway here is - If you go to Sumo and they like you, you get fantastic free stuff! No, thats just on the lighter side. So now, the elephant is the room - The Sushi. The Nigiri was absolutely splendid. The Maki was also great. Id put it right up there with Fujiyama and Wasabi. However, I think its a hit and miss on the Maki. These three can trade places for Number 01 on the Maki. Just the same, Sumo is on the top 03 - So thats pretty good. Anyway, the food quality is premium, the service is great and, the ambience and the experience are just absolutely fantastic.

The Mandarin Kitchen and Sumo are great place to dine in a very good environment. The food is very good. Mandarin is Thai and Chinese cuisine and Sumo is Japenese restaurant. Both are in one building.

Food is different than other Chinese of the city. If you like spicy chinese food than go for some other place. It is more ethnic chinese than routine Chinese eateries.

The restaurant is very well appointed.The staff is knowledgable and the service is efficient. The food quality is probably better than any other Japanese restaurant.
