A review of the Ginsoy - Extreme Chinese Restaurant located at Ghalib Road, Gulberg 3.Theres just something calming and relaxing as soon as you wntet this place. Just gives you those vibes of what you expect from a fine dine restaurant.For starters we ordered the Ginsoy Special Soup, from their secret menu, which is a mixture of regular hot and sour soup with the addition of tofu, prawns and mushrooms which gave it a unique not-so-sour flavour. The quantity was ample and more than enough for 5 people. We were 3 people and had two bowls each and there were still around 4 bowls left.For mains we ordered their new Red Roasted chicken, Classic Beef Chilli Dry, American Chopsuey, Chinese Chopsuey and Chicken Fried Rice. The quantity of the Red Roasted was a little less than expected at the price point but the nevertheless it tasted great. Not sure if it has to taste sweet because it was included in their lineup of spicy dishes, but it still tasted good. Their Classic Beef Chilli Dry is a show stealer as usual. Has that perfect balance of not-so-chilli flavor that is easier to handle but still giving that chilli punch. The rice were amazing too. Every grain was separate as youd expect from a top quality fried rice unlike some other places that make soufflés out of fried rice. The quantity is good enough for three people.Now coming to the Chinese Chopsuey. It tasted good until, halfway, we realised that the noodles were undercooked. The noodles at the top were fine but the ones in the middle were really undercooked and totally dry. It was like eating nimko, no kidding. We didnt even call the waiter, he came to us and asked us if everything tasted fine. We nodded but pointed at the Chopsuey and without asking any further questions he picked the dish up and politely asked us what we wanted as a replacement. Now THAT, ladies and gentleman, is what is called a really good customer service. Were approached thrice, twice by the waiters and once by the manager, asking if our experience was good and if everything was okay. Havent seen this kind of customer service in any other restaurant, not even in the top of the line restaurants.Overall Experience 9/10.

If you are looking for having a different type of Chinese food, then give this place a try. They have big serving size for soups and overall food is good.

The meat and seafood tasted old and rubbery the whole steamed fish was falling apart and was drowing in sauce the soup flavour was ok but nothing was cooked properly.. Everything tasted rawAverage rice and average drinksThey lady next to us made a complaint about her seafood tasting bad and offWe should have left at that moment but decided to give the restaurant a chanceShortly after we finished my mother sister and I fell sick with stomach problems from Im guessing the seafood which the manager said its supposed to be like that.6k worth of food and not even a single nice dish

Love the Ginsoy Special Soup. Did not like the Stuffed Chillies which are done a little differently.The ambiance of the place is comfortable and good for families and groups. While it is a place where one can dine alone, I have not ordered single serving size to know if it is more than apt for 1 person!

Ambiance is Good, Food Quality is Average, Service is Below Average.Had a bad experience with the serving time, my check-in time was 9:45 pm and the food got served at 10:55 pm. The food was served cold and was lacking standard quantity ingredients. Overall taste is good but they have balanced this by lowering down the quantity of chicken/mushrooms/prawns etc.

Ginsoy is surely extreme Chinese. the soups are good, so are the main courses. Ginsoy has huge serving per person, so I would say definitely a good option for a group of people. Although it is not too special, it surely can be categorized as extreme Chinese. thy have a couple of levels of spice so u can select accordingly. the ambience is not bad either.

A third class Chinese. Will not prefer anyone to go there. The food quantity was too less probably because i used a coupon of bogo which offered me 20% discount. Pathetic staff continuously giving their lame reasoning. All of my dinner got messed up. There delivery quantity is very low. I would surely not recommend anyone to go there. There family size serving is probably very very less. Not recommended at all.

Food had desi touch in it. It was spicy, even the dishes that were mentioned as mild were spicy. The food quantity in the terms of ingredients was not adequate, such as soup lacked chicken and other ingredients.Service was really good. Servers were very helping and nice.Overall it was an average experience.

Try the Red Hot & Sour!The place is pretty tiny so make sure your either reserve in advance or be prepared to wait a few minutes to be seated.The quantity of the dishes is reasonable enough too, though maybe a little on the low side, but the savory experience makes it worth all the same!

It was a good experience. Loved their complementary fish cracker+green sauce starter. Food tasted good as well and their family soup serving was way more than what 4 persons could consume . Also got 20% discount with HBL Credit card ;)

I made a grand dinner party for my guests from Karachi. As I have been to Karachi Xtreme Ginsoy so I thought it will also have that high quality food standard, and Thank God they didnt fail me. The food was very very hot and very good in quality, cant be better than this. The ambiance was very cool. Love to go there every time.

Had chance to eat at SMCHS branch, found its food quality really good.I tried corn soup and checken with lots of veg. Corn was good and vegetables ones was good too but does not have lots of veggies, which was ok :)

Nice place slightly cramped for a restaurant but their food compensates for quite a lot. Reasonably priced. Parking is a challenge as they have almost no parking space of their own. Their Iftar deals are a must.
