I love this placeIn childhood we celebrated the eid holiday there but now a days only few people go there due to some reasons.

Chashma barrage is beautiful place to visit . Chashma hotel is only hotel to stay there. The view of chashma Hotel is superb and meal was good too, but staff isnt good enough to treat the guests. Staff of chashma hotel is very rude. I repeat very rude.

An amazing place where water and Green Plants makes a Wonderful combination of Nature.

Place is cozy peaceful and suitable for family lunch and breakfast. The place is surrounded by river Indus and its canals.

Built between 1967 to 1971, it is one of the many major engineering works that form part of Indus basin Treaty of 1960 between India and Pakistan.From the environmental point of view, this project was far from ideal. The barrage, with its pond level at 649 SPD, submerged 137 sq miles (355 sq km) of beautiful farmland. The affected area is far in excess because of land acquisition up to 650 SPD. According to project reports, 29 (in fact, 34) villages) were displaced with a population of 22400 people (in fact, far more) in mid 60’s.

The contract for Chashma Barrage works was awarded on 10 February 1967 to French Consortium Société Dumez and Société Borie and was successfully completed by 25 March 1971. The total cost of Chashma Barrage works was Rs.399 million[1] but power generation started later in 2001. The installed capacity of power Station is 184 MW, from eight Kaplan-type bulb turbine units, each with a 23 MW capacity. The bulb turbines have been installed for the first time in Pakistan. Its amazing

Probably not worth a visit if youre coming from far away. Also, take care of the climate when youre visiting as theres too much fog to enjoy in winter. Everyone in the area knows how to cook fish but some places are downright dirty and disgusting. Watch what and where you eat.
