Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology is spiritually associated to Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India. Very poor standard. And very low grade management. University is only concentrating on gathering money from students.Admission requirements has gone below 55% in FSc. Last year admission test were taken 2 times as University was unable to get proper number of students to run their system. Most of the students fail regularly, though open cheating with the help of mobiles and other devices is normal routine in exams.Even the staff is non cooperative in most of the departments and one chairman looking after more than one department just to make their own money.Academic standard has also gone very down.

Lots of memories here which wont let me give 1 star. The first pic is of main cafeteria which is near to the back gate connecting parking lot.

Campus was massive but the location is not so good It is not situated on the main road so it will be very difficult to find the location without the gps navigation however the faculty of the university is the same as the main campus.knowledge ar tools that can drive a nation like Pakistan towards the horizon of success. I done my Engineering in Electronics from this university 2003-2007. It is one of the best Engineering universities of Pakistan having highly qualified Staff and Modern Labs.

The best thing is its recognized by PEC and makes you an Engineer. Rest all is mediocre. Poorest management I have ever seen of an institution of this calibre. Heard the new VC is trying to sort things out. Lets wish him luck.

SSUET is one of the best university in Karachi and it produced and producing excellent engineers who are doing good work in job market . Though there is a existence of political party but at the end only those students becomes successful in getting job who really worked hard and learnt something. All the students who wasted their time in working in political party though got good grades but havent learnt anything and market requirement is talent not GPA. Simply an excellent university for students who have keen interest in studies.

Great place for technology lover.

I was a student at SSUET of Computer Engineering. Although the course outline looks great but the teaching standards & quality is extremely poor. In our class, grades were usually poor except for students who had political connections. University does not seem to reward students based on merit. I do not know how can some people compare it to NED. With the exception of few lecturers most of them do not even have a clue what they are talking about. Had a friend who graduated in CS from SSUET with 2.9 GPA (due to high profile connections) but can not even write a simple binary search algo. My advice? If you really want to learn then stay away from SSUET!

APMSO (MQM) students forced other students of SIr syed university into a political rally infront of Gublee gate karachi university.In sir syed university today as APMSO activists, student wing of MQM entered classrooms during lecture disrupting classes and asked students to join rally. The APMSO workers disrupted classes and pulled all students out of their departments.The university was immediately closed at 11 am (which normally closes at 5pm). Lectures were shut the entire day.Students were forcefully pulled out of lectures to protest and rally for a cause they knew nothing about.No student was allowed to leave university as the gates of the university closed and APMSO workers were monitoring all gates making sure no student leaves the university. Their workers were present. They had arranged local buses and they were parked inside the university campus. The university lecturers management saw everything that was happening in the university but neither dared to raised a voice. APMSO workers had threatened students not to leave or escape, and no one dared to, fearing the consequences. Nobody was willing to go, some students tried to cross the gate and escape when the buses were passing through the gate but they were caught and taken to APMSO-UNIT which is inside the university campus, one could hear them screaming. Students were threatened with rally time if they try to leave, the students were huddled up into buses because they werent enough buses some students were roof-riding and taken to join the rally on each bus there were APMSO workers monitoring students not to escape as they arrived at silver jublee gate of karachi university. they were even more APMSO workers, no one could escape and no one dared to. The students were forced to stand in the scorching sun and listen to whatever they say, some students approached rally organizers for permission to leave but all requests have been denied. They distributed banners and photos and asked students to hold them, again no way to deny. Unfortunately in their presence no one dare to talk nor they could question as they were APMSO goons around them.I request university authorities to file a report and take appropriate step against those who force students into participating into political rallies or activities. The students come to study not to be involved in political activities risking their precious lives in danger. Anything could happen at yesterdays scene, a bomb could go off, there could be target killing because everyday there are clashes between MQM and other political parties. Why life of other students were in danger due to criminal actions of one party? Why is MQM putting lives of other innocent students in danger for their own cause. No political party should be allowed to use other students by force to fulfill their own evil demands.

Think twiceDont waste your time applying to Sir Syed University. They appear like a good school on papers, but after spending 1 years there, I came to the realization that Sir Syed Uni only cares about your Paisas.when you ask teachers and If you ever have a serious problem, theyll turn their back on you.In addition, Block 5, where sir syed University is located, is really unsafe. I know FOUR people at Sir syed who got robbed, and two of them were robbed at GUNPOINT infront of university at presence of University chokidars (robbed by APMSO students) No one dares to complain. Those who do are threatened, harassed!I wish I had realized it sooner, I urge you to think twice before applying to Sir Syed.

Assalam O Alaikum,with most of the reviews written about SSUET i am highly disappointed, it is not the way you regard your institution who make you eligible to compete in modern world, if you are jobless it is nothing to do with SSUET you are not capable of having a job. it cant be your worst decision as well because if you had the luxury of having good result in HSC you wold not be here. So when you are rejected and thrown out by every university in Karachi then you join SSUET and yet you became an Engineer. It is an institute which takes B graders and even less percentage students and raise them to be a good Engineer. As a passout from SSUET i am proud and feel satisfied with my institutions. it all reflects in my current status. never curse your institute as it has given you the name and future many times greater than your ability.
