The meticulously designed graves with intricate carving on yellow stones and calligraphy of questions verses on a few other graves make the graveyard a true beauty for visitors. The texture of the carvings will keep you hooked for hours and the history that the graves hold make you wish you had been part of that era.

Chaukhandi (چوکنڈی‎) tombs are form an early Islamic cemetery situated in Memon goth some 20km away from Karachi on the motorway. The tombs are remarkable for their elaborate sandstone carvings.It is believed that the graves belongs to Jokhio tribe. These unique graves are constructed in buff sandstone. Their carved decoration presents exquisite craftsmanship and constructed either as single graves or as groups of up to eight graves raised on a common platform.

Ruins of history remains on its own self wish the sindh heritage department restores the beauty and royalty of such an elegant historical graveyard.

15th and 16th century historical carving Graveyard Known as Baloch Tombs and famous Malik Thootha Khan Graveyard. Malik Thootha Khan Burried here. Malik Thootha Khan was Duke of Kalmatis.

Its good site. But neglected by the government. No sign board, no boundary wall, no shelter etc there is nothing from government

No maintenance. No boundary no walls, absolutely unkept. This place is actually not the real chowkandi graveyard. Google must rename it as Baloch graveyard. Although the graves look the same in design but a better proper place to visit is the main chowkandi graveyard at national highway and that is a must visit if you are interested in archeology, art, architecture and heritage.

This graveyard is situated in Malir district Karachi, located near Memon Goth in Goth Hashim Jokhio. The Baluch Tombs graveyard was developed by those who were roaming in Maheer area. It came into existence when the earlier non-regular graves, scattered in that area attained uniformity of design. This acquisition of uniform features initiated the artisan in an art form which went on to develop greatly.
