As a Brit trying to get hold on someone and waited on a call for more than 15 minutes, was still unable to hear a voice on the other side of phone. Disappointing. Guess the service standards change by the country?

This place has changed the meaning of a library for me. I used to think a library is a dead quiet place where people bury themselves in their books and just study. But this library, its fresh and its inviting. Its a social space where people can come together, discuss on topics, read books or even study. There are a few soundproof rooms too where you can go if you want to cut off from the world and immerse in something. And theres an amazing cafe inside the library premises where you can always go when you need a little retreat.

British Council is situated on the road leading for Park Towers towards Do Talwar. Situated opposite to Park Lane Hospital. The Brish Council Library is right next to British High Commission. The place is closely guarded by police contingents and private guards.Only members can enter the library. Non-members have to register themselves in advance. After ID and baggage checks, you enter the building. Once in, there is a big courtyard with Espresso restaurant on one side and library on the other. The library is extremely comfortable and one can find a large number of books on various subjects. Members can do online research on high speed PCs and Ipads. Students can choose to read indoors or outdoors in the courtyard. You can buy membership i.e. individual, family or digital. Fee may change. At the moment it is PKR 6,000 for individual, PKR 15,000 for family and PKR 3,500 for digital membership

It is included in one of the most inspiring library list in my recently visit list. The library membership is economical but when everything is available on net even they provide online library so spare sometime from hectic working life schedule is really demanding one but finally I decided to enrolled myself for Writing session conducted their at Sadequain room.Their was strict checking at various entrances. The staff was friendly. There was huge book collection for book lovers, the library is integrated with new technology, the corridor section, the cafeteria was neat & clean.I really enjoy the espresso coffee at economical price.

The library is fantastic and the facilities offered are state of the art. One thing that i absolutely love about this place is that there seems to be a new addition to the facilities everyday. The fee is yearly and quite nominal. Their book collection is vast and very impressive. The librarians are incredibly professional and highly educated. The only downside (for people looking for pin drop silence) is that it can get a bit noisy at times, as this library encourages social activities.

The British Council Library is one of the finest library in my opinion. With a wide range of facilities, one can spend more than 2 hours at this place. There is an on-site Necos with a wide ranged menu. This is a good place to come and study as there is absolute no distraction. The library hosts many events which are interesting.Timings: 10:00 AM to 8:00 PMPersonal favorite place to spend my time.

The library lack professional and technical book collection, although the library facilities including digital is up to the international library standards but the space and book collection needs a lot of attention. Being a UK student and having seen some of the top of the world libraries there, British Council library was a huge disappointment for me. Also considering that its a library, they only have a single a floor being only able to accommodate a handful of readers.

State of the art library with a vast collection and automated checkout system for books. There is also an on-site Necos to grab snacks from while reading and regular events scheduled for community building. Annual membership fees is extremely nominal and staff is quite helpful. Definitely one of the best libraries currently operating in Karachi.

I am not even sure if we can call it a library or not. Theres always some cultural event going on and members have to bear with the noises made by their staff and event attendees. Theres also not enough room for sitting because most of the time their reading hall is booked for some event and members have to sit outside in sunlight. So, its more like a social hub than a library.
