Bai Virbaijee Soparivala (BVS) Parsi High School is a private school in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. It opened in 1859 as Karachi Parsi Balak Shalla, by the Zoroastrian residents of Karachi. In 1947, after the partition of India, on the personal request to the elders of the Parsi community by the Quaid-I-Azam, Mr. Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the school opened its doors to all Muslim and other non Parsi children of the new nation. On 23 May 1958, the school began Centenary celebrations and the entire Parsi community participated in the functions that were organized.Bai Virbaiji Soparivala Parsi SchoolIn 1875, Parsi Virbaiji Soparivala School became Bai Virbaiji Soparivala Parsi High School and H. E. Sir Robert Temple, Governor of Bombay, visited the BVS. In 1877, Seth Shahpurji was awarded the Certificate of Loyalty by Queen Victoria for his services in the field of education and social sector. In 1904, the construction of the present building started, and, in 1906, BVS shifted to the new building at Victoria Road (now Abdullah Haroon Road). BVS was designed by Moses Somake, the Jewish architect who is perhaps the first known architect of many Karachi buildings.(Courtesy Wickipedia)

No doubt BVS is one of the best schools in Pakistan. I must appreciate Parsi community to serve this school in Ideal manners. There are other good schools in Karachi but most of them highly expensive and only elite class can afford but BVS is a real educational institution where your Kid can avail world class education standers in very nominal fees.My son is in fifth grade and we can feel difference with other kids.Another best thing about the BVS is its culture and values. Their conservative standard makes your child a real gentleman not so called Burgers.Teachers are well trained and experienced. In five year we havent seen any negligence from teachers, sometimes parents exhaust from strictness and discipline but this is the real beauty of the BVS.You are lucky if your kid in BVS.Other useful info:Admission in 1 class age must be 5+Form available in OctoberYou need bring original birth certificate for form. You may remain in cue for 2 days just for having admission form.Fees in primary around 4k per monthAdmission cost around 40kGood Luck:)

The school is perhaps good but the teachers are a bit harsh to students no matter how qualified they are but some teachers are so stressed due you to their house chores not getting complete on time and stuff so they put all their stress on students by giving them extra home work and scolding them and stuff but still the quality of education being provided is good........

I was a student at BVS School completing my Matriculation in 1956. I left Karachi in 1956 for UK for further education. I have lived in London, England ever since. I have always considered BVS School to be one of the best in my time for everything. Looking back in retrospect I still consider myself to be fortunate enough to have been in that school.I have read some reviews about, teachers beating up and foul languages. We had during my days the Vice-Principal Mr. Meenwala. He used to beat the hell out of us with a can, if he suspected that we were mis-behaving in our class in anyway then we used to say our prayers to escape his beating. Mr. Behram Rustamji The Principal gave us the best education along with good behaviour and discipline. Corporate punishment is of course banned in UK education system but this is different country. With regard to foul language, we see every now and then on TV in UK for the last 10-15 years but not before. Peoples self respect has changed. I would say, if you use it then you are degrading your own self esteem.
