The Fauji Foundation (“FF” or “Foundation”),incorporated in 1954 under the charitable endowments act of 1890, is a trust dedicated for the welfare of ex-servicemen and their families. The origin of the Foundation lies in the “Military Reconstruction Fund”, constituted with effect from 1st April 1942 by the Government of India, for the post-war welfare and rehabilitation of army veterans of the war then in progress, and their dependents, defined as the “Beneficiaries” (re-named as “Post-War Services Reconstruction Fund (PWSR). By 1947 the PWSRfund were transferred and remained with the Government of Pakistan until 1952, which were then transferred to the Army. The funds were initially invested in establishing a Textile Mill, later from its income, first 50 bedded hospital was established in Rawalpindi.The objective of the Foundation is to provide welfare services to its beneficiaries that include healthcare, subsidized education, stipends and vocational and technical training. It operates on a complete self-sustaining basis and receive no grants or assistance from any Government or Non-Governmental Organisations.Fauji Foundation is the largest social welfare network outside Government, and oneof the largest business conglomerates operating in Fertilizer, Cement, Power Generation, Renewable Energy, Oil & Gas exploration, Marine Terminal, Food andBanking sectors of the country.History
