Best hospital for cardiac issues even better than AGKH

My father had an episode of shortness of breath in Faisalabad (my hometown) and was referred to cardiology by the doctors in ER. Even though he was pushing for treatment from FIC (Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology), I convinced him to come to Karachi and had consultations booked at both AKUH and TIH. I was able to get a hold of Dr. Khawar Kazmi in TIHs DHA clinic. He ran detailed tests of my father and referred us to Dr.Ghufranullah Khan. My father had an earlier bad experience with his leg surgery and was hesitant. But Alhamdulillah it all went smooth. My father was able to make a recovery from MVR+CABG in two to three days. The hospital staff is very professional and disciplined. They own their patients and were getting the same level of dedication on the follow up visits. The treatment is, of course, expensive (depending upon the affordability of the patient). Lab staff was okish (I personally preferred AKUHs lab over TIH), their canteen is pretty much like ***t. Youre paying too much for too little value. Yet, the advantage of using TIHs lab is that you dont have to worry about carrying the reports and medical records with you on every visit, the doctors can access your tests, history and medication etc from their desk. So focus is one what to do from now rather than starting from the begining. Were now following up with Prof.Ishaq and Dr.Ghuffranullah. My experience has been great AH and I recommend TIH to anyone who can afford it (of course they offered my father with the option of welfare but we were covered as my father is a corporate patient).

My grandfather was a healthy 80-year-old who had never suffered from any heart problems, and did not have any of the major risk factors for heart disease. All he had was mild asthma, and well-controlled hypertension. He was regular with his check-ups, and took great care of his diet, exercise, and overall health.Three weeks ago, he felt pain in his right shoulder after playing with his great-grandson. Emergency room staff recommended a cardiologist appointment, so we took him to Tabba due to its excellent reputation.They diagnosed my grandfather with three blocked coronary arteries. They told us this by hand-drawing it on a diagram of the heart. We never received any proper angiography report. They recommended a triple bypass immediately. Due to their urging and the way they framed it as an emergency, my family agreed to the surgery. We were told it was a success, and we were hoping to have him home within a few days. He was recovering very well from the surgery, and was shifted to a private room with the expectation of being discharged in two days. He was eating on his own, and going to the bathroom on his own. He appeared to be in good health and good spirits.My grandfather began having breathing difficulties a week and a half ago. He was still in the hospital. The staff ordered a PCR test for Covid-19. The entire family got tested, too, immediately.My grandfather was positive for Covid. No one else in the family was. When we asked the staff there if they got tested, they said, No, not unless someone shows symptoms. As medical professionals, they did not seem to care that Covid can be asymptomatic, that they could have been passing it on to their patients without knowing it.Fourteen patients in the ICU turned out Covid-positive during this time.The hospital told us we had the option to shift my grandfather elsewhere, or to keep him in the Covid ward there. Of course we chose not to shift him, as he was not stable enough for it. The hospital agreed to shift him to their Covid ward -- if we paid an additional 3.5 lakhs immediately. This is in addition to the fees for the triple bypass and his ICU stay afterwards.We are lucky enough to have five doctors in the family, including myself. When we spoke to the doctor in charge, asking them about their poor infection control practices, they said, Ye to hota hai hospitals mein. We dont have the resources to get all our staff PCR-tested for Covid.Keep in mind that on their website, they advertise cheap rates and quick results for anyone wishing to get PCR-tested. But according to them, they didnt have the resources to get their staff tested.One week ago, my grandfather was sedated and put on a ventilator. His oxygen saturation was declining dangerously. The staff told us to keep praying, but to hope for a miracle from Allah. None of them had gotten tested, not even after my grandfather contracted Covid from one of them.Two days ago, my grandfather suffered cardiac arrest in the early hours of the morning. Twenty minutes of CPR could not save him, and he passed away.The hospital is taking no responsibility, since according to them ye to hota hai hospitals mein. We have paid their huge bill in order to be able to bury our grandfather. We are saddened and shocked, but also angry. Healthcare staff should be regularly tested -- these people could not care less. My grandfather passed away from something that should never have happened to him, due to the criminal negligence of the staff at Tabba towards the people in their care. None of us got the chance to say goodbye to him. We made the mistake of trusting the healthcare staff at Tabba.If God forbid you or anyone you know requires any cardiac medical help, I am begging you, do not go to Tabba. They will treat you as nothing more than a cash cow, and they will not give a damn if they are harming you or your loved ones. My grandfather passed due to their negligence. I hope and pray no one else ever has to suffer a similar, preventable loss.

Before getting admitted for my open heart surgery I was scared to death. But as soon as I was admitted I knew after the grace of AllahSwt I was in good hands. My surgeon Dr Ghufranullah is an angel of life in the form of a surgeon. Soft spoken well mannered and he listens when the Pt talks. Which is a great quality when you are a busy surgeon. By the grace of AllahSwt he gave me a new life. May AllahSwt bless him and his family and shower upon them all that is beneficial for them for now and hereafter. Treatment is good. Canteen facilities are poor.canteen is opened for 12 hours and close d for 12 hours.

Neat and clean hospital and very strict to bring local food in hospital. So not allowed any outside hospital foods item. When i was visit i feel good about environment.

Where you find professional doctors for heart.

Eco and angiography reports will take 7 WORKING days (TOTAL 10 DAYS) to be printed.. a very unique feature of this hospital. Seems they have a separate R&D on these reports and you will end up in extreme frustration asking for such reports here and ther. If you dont have enough doctors or report writers then hire them... Collecting hell of money but providing this level of services is really a question mark!!

The care is as any business institution. They are concerned more with making money rather than the patient. My father entered in better condition requiring an urgent bypaas surgery. They waited for his health to detoriate for whole 2 days just to say an urgent bypass is needed. A whole 2 days they fixated on the consequences of his heart condition rather than fixing the main issues and after getting all the funds deposited.. They went its impossible. We cant treat him in anyway. He has gone beyond..THEY MURDERED MY FATHER.. ITS A CONTRACT KILLING INSTITUTION.. YOU PAY LACS TO GET YOUR LOVED ONES KILLED..BEWARE.

This is big heart hospital in the Karachi city and the hospital setup is private. At this hospital, the cardiovascular emergency is open round the clock and the hospital also has OPD.Treatment for patients with diabetes has also started in this hospital.

Worst helpline ever. I called 7 times just to inquire about echo cardiography and everyone just kept transferring my call to other departments.

So so emergency services with poor doctors ( actually if they are just students). You visit at night and problem worsens. They wont allow attendant inside emergency which is not anywhere. The staff and doctor hardly bothers to look at patient history. In our society and system we can not rely on uncaring staff. 2 nurses misbehaved and said to the patient, you are stinking if you took bath recently. Such a shame.They fed my close relative aged nearly 70 in moderetely critical condition with sugary juice and biscuits in dinner without consulting attendant. Even they left the patient without food for hours and upon continuous reminder did the above dangerous act. I know they are doctors but what they feel that everyone is illiterate .After shift to ward the night doctor was administering insulin on his own again without looking the history and upon information sadly replied ohh that one is expensive, though the attendant had the insulin beside patient. They recommend frequent water intake and had a jug and glass for the purpose. Some buddy tell them how can critical aged patient have it on his own.Couple of security guards at staircase are totally disrespectful and why they are armed with pistol. This is too much.In mid of the city so helps people avoid travel time which is critical in saving lives. Outside parking at your own risk. Has very very good senior doctors and updated equipment. Good cafeteria and place for namaz. Clean and tidy. Fresh drinking cool water is missing and I feel its water from soil. The building is cramped which is not upto the need of cardiac care hospital.All in all a badly needed facility but not sure about cost though I doubt its exorbitant.

You can get much better (timely) emergency heart treatment at a nearby govt cardiac hospital.Otherwise its a good hospital for heart dieseases but very expensive.

I came for Echogram test and was without an appointment, however I did not insisted with regard to my test being done immediately. I was told by the people at reception that wait your test will be done soon. I was not given any indication as to how much time it will take. It has been over 3 hours I am still waiting. The guy at reception keep on telling me we are calling you & this is going on since last two hours. If they had told me when I was paying for my test that I have to wait for 3 hours plus I would have rather taken anappointment for future date. Making a heart patient wait for 3 plus hours is not the standard norms. Your reception area people at the test and laboratory area needs customer service training as they lack basic skills. Its really very torturous & painful to wait. They are more interested to take the money and thats it. Did I made the right decision bybcomig here?
