Instead of commenting on quality and variety which is always good here, the best thing is that its owners have either adopted the Prophetic Instruction to open the businesses early morning telling us that blessings (Barkat) are placed there to look for provisions in the first half of the day or they have adopted this after seeing that all civilized nations in the world open businesses early and closes early. You go there at the start of the day, shop and come back home quickly without facing traffic rush and fatigue.

Portia fabric is not what I thought off. its a very expensive outlet, which can only accommodate the business community and surely not the Middle class of Karachi. I bought fabric for winter shalwar n kameez, and it was dam expensive.. one can buy the same stuff anywhere on Tariq Road at least 30% cheaper. Not a place I would visit again....my apology for these harsh words... but I feel to come out with the reality.

Nice collection of kameez shalwar fabric

This is a good place to shop for unstiched suits. They have a collection for both the gender. As compared to other outlets like Cambridge, J., Khaadi and what not the suits are available at almost half the price and of better quality than any of them mentioned above. Too bad they are not in Islamabad but have three outlets throughout Pakistan.... Lahore, Faisalabad and Karachi. There Karachi outlet is spacious and comprises of two floors. The ground floor has the vintage collection section with a small place for mens catering huge collection and colours. Same goes for womens section housing the entire first floor with all collection lined up against the walls. They also habe a small collection of atiched clothes for women. You really habe to look around and the attendants have to be actually called out in advance otherwise they will continue to ignore you! The entire collection for both genders is made by Portia themselves and some of the variety is known for releasing colour with the first wash so exercise caution while buying. Overall a good experience of very inexpensive shopping.
