As I am a Senior Member of this Institute & now a member of Working Group & of Core Committee which is authorised to critically examining the Karachi Building & Town Planning Regulations 2019 by comparing it with the Regulations of 2002 I am twice a week visiting this place which is in the neighbourhood of Bilawal House & BBQ Tonight in Clifton , Karachi . IAP is a voluntary body or a club meant exclusively for the welfare of qualified architects who must be its members in good standing . I was one time Honorary Secretary & subsequently Vice Chairman of Karachi Chapter of IAP. This amenity plot of IAP is 2700 sq yds & I also helped in its acquisition being in the KDA at that time . We ( Misbah Najmi , Jennifer Catherine Habib , Farzana Chohan & other Executive Committee Members of KC-IAP of 90s ) had worked on the proposed plan which was previously designed by Shama Usman & amended it after thorough discussions amongst the Committee Members & arranged help thru cash & kind for the Construction of IAP House . Later on , a Design Competition was held in which two junior graduate Architects of Dawood College of Engineering & Technology also participated ( one of which was Farah Zia ) & won & they were awarded this project subject to the condition that they would be associated with a senior Architect having a full fledged office . IAP House will be when completed a marvel & a shining example of Architecture in Pakistan .
