JEHANGIR KOTHARI PARADE - stock photoJehangir Kothari Parad is the famous iconic landmark of the city. It is a promenade (waterfront elevated sandstone public walkway) built on land bequeathed or donated by Seth Jehangir Hormusji Kothari to the city of Karachi back in 1919. It is situated on a hilltop in the Clifton area of the city famous for its Seaview Beach on the Arabian Sea which was built in 1919 and opened to Karachi public in 1920. There are two structures: the Promenade Pavilion and the Pier of the complex (elevated sandstone public walkway) which is named after Lady Lloyd, wife of then Governor of Bombay Sir George Lloyd. This is evident in the marble plaque embedded in the pier wall that reads, Lady Lloyd Pier.

Once used as sign of pride for Karachi but now only historical building.
One of the great #landmark of Karachi on the entrance of Bagh e Ibn E Qasim. The place is Accessibility-friendly and #Accessibile for everyone, Specially for the people who use wheelchairs. There is no entry fees for that place, and ideal location for photography. The place is remembrance of Mughal Era.#letsguide

My memories
Great place
I love this place its one of the best places of Karachi.
This Pavillion and an elevated walkway was built on Clifton Beach by Jahangir Hormasji Kothari as a gift to the residents of Karachi one hunred years ago are gradually fading away due to criminal negligence of Authorities. This building complex including Kothari Parade, Lady Lioyd Pier, Pavillion and a Bungalow are in bad codition.
The construction which happened recently around the place has left it a little inaccessible. The paths leading to the place were dug up to make space for the underpass next to it but it wasnt fixed back to normal. This is another really important structure representing the spirit of Karachi.
