Soothing place to go for studying, work or just some quality time. You may not feel the same if you cant bear traffic noise though.Apart from that everything is amazing about this place. The nostalgic feeling, and the environment.

TDF Ghar is true to Karachis core culture and history. Visiting the Ghar is essential for understanding Karachi. Even the places own history is story of the city in microcosm -- a pre-partition origin, decades long illegal control by the vicious land mafia, and finally its redemption and restoration. The management is friendly and trusting of the visitors. There are no sentries stopping you from touching the objects. No restrictions on taking pictures for personal use. The visitors were also equally careful not to damage anything. Theres a library too and a nice restaurant, a roof top with beautiful views and a pretty little balcony on first floor. All in all, a must visit place.

As the name says TDF Ghar, so yeah it was comfortable like your own home. Another thing that I loved was the historical stuff, trust me they are nowhere near to those boring museums even the pictures are so full of life that you cant help but smile. That place is all in one, the environment is great and peaceful, you have a library with a wide range of books, you can have some appetizing food, and enjoy the roof top view, that is a one mesmerizing view, the sight of Quaid-e-Azams mausoleum is just spectacular.

Beautifully amazing place to visit to know about Karachi heritage. This 1930s house is renovated to its original state by The Dawood Foundation. It has a library, study room, 3 event halls, a cafe which is a little expensive and rooftop with amazing view of Quaid-e-Azams Mausoleum.

Amazing place to see complete picture of old Karachi right from history to all the stuff that was ised in old houses like gramophone, lantern, hookah etc. They have exhibition rooms as well. The time when I visited, exhibition of Karachi sea port was displayed which was amazing. Cherry on top is the delicious food in their cafeteria. Taste is just like home made food. Entry tickets and food cost is reasonable

This is one of the finest places in Karachi to sit and study or just hang out with friends or family. This place has a picturesque view of Quaid e Azam tomb. The only bad point about this place is the high prices of things at the cafe. A 500ml water bottle costs pkr50 while a can of softdrink or a cup of tea costs pkr100.

The most tranquil place to take in the picturesque view of our Quaids mausoleum and city of lights fanning out around it. An ideal place to relax and unwind with friends and a boardgame. Food can be improved but thats not the reason y this place is a must visit in Karachi, the marvelous Stone flooring and vintage vibe and furniture to go with it boosts you back into the past with radio n tv to make one reminisce about the good old days. The rooftop and indoor seating is well planned. Maintainence is on point. Hats off to the Dawood foundation for this admirable task carried out.

Nice place to hangout with a nice view. Its interestingly quieter then I expected. What is really annoying is that they always ask me to empty my water bottle every time I enter. It feels like they want us to buy water from the inside, but the request at the gate seems quite unwelcoming.Nice economical place to hangout, do some work, meet people. Food isnt that great to be honest, but its not too bad either. They arent good with serving on time so a good recommendation would be for them to start self service over the counter food. Would be a lot easier.

I was really wanting to go to this place. This Sunday we went with our family. The place is very well maintained. Was very impressed. The only thing which bothered us is that as we were in a big group we were not guided adequately that they were under staffed and it was not easy for them to serve food on the roof. The food took too long to reach us. There are no proper cutlery and glasses. They did not serve any. Had to drink water from the bottle only. Similarly no plates. Still we enjoyed the sun and our breakfast. Also loved the guided tour.

Beautiful Place for History Lovers, with glorious past of Karachi.Since construction of this beautiful house to-date, entire history is available for visiting people. Many antiques are also preserved, Dawood Foundation renovated the house few years back in an attempt to present the same old beauty though not exactly the same but did a great job to present the glorious past of Karachi.A small library, many old pictures, books, and restaurant offering a good menu of fresh food. One can also enjoy the evening at roof while having Mazar e Quaid views and enjoying the tasty freshly cooked food from good menu at reasonable prices.By visiting TDF Ghar, I came to know that the Samanid Mausoleum, located in Bukhara, Uzbekistan, influenced the Complex geometrical design of Mausoleum of Jinnah.  This Iconic symbol of Karachi was designed by a then friend of Jinnah & Bombay based architect Mr Yahya Merchant.President Ayub Khan laid the foundation stone for the monument on July 31, 1960and final inauguration was done by Mr Yahya Khan on 18 January 1971.Visit Recommended, any visit can last for maximum 3 hours. After 3 hours administration can ask to leave the premises to accommodate the new entrants.10:00 AM TO 10:00 PMMonday closed.Covid 19 SOPs to be followed.

So this was the first time I visit TDF Ghar. I was not expecting what I got. I didnt try any food but from what I saw in the menu the prices seemed reasonable. Definitely worth visiting.

A place which is not even known to majority of Karachiites. Century old house converted into cultural hotspot - TDF Ghar, a period house on Saddars M.A. Jinnah Road has been conserved under The Dawood Foundation, retaining most of its heritage architectural details. The space has ample seating in the open-air Sehan Café with its old Irani bentwood chairs. The warm yellow colour of the wall and lots of plants with the Champa flower tree ─ iconic to homes of the olden times ─ the sehan makes for a perfect place to relax and unwind over chai and snacks, available at a minimal cost. The main attraction of TDF Ghar is The Living Room museum, which comprises antique artefacts and collectables from as early as 1930s. ─ the living room is a heritage lovers paradise. The rooftop of the house offers a breathtaking view of the Quaids mazaar. Its boundary walls are bordered with beautiful flower boxes and a colourful mosaic of the houses original tiles. The roofs walls are also lined with sockets to facilitate those who want to work on their laptops as they enjoy the Karachi breeze and immerse themselves in the city of lights. Since its construction in the 1930s, the house has withstood historic movements like the exit of the British empire and the tumultuous partition of the subcontinent, and has thrived in the volatile city of Karachi. It is truly a testament to the transformative power of art and legacy in our society.
