Taus - BahadurabadWhat were they thinking?! Even two of us couldn’t finish one set of the Sunday brunch...-Omelette-Chana-Aloo-Kabab Fry-Brain Masala-Halwa-Puris-Paratha-Choice of Lassi or ChaiAll garam and great, for just 925!Limited outdoor seating so be prepared to wait a bit. And be quick after you get a table Ps. I heard DHA guys picked plants and some other stuff from outside Tau and many other restaurants in DHA last night. No indoor, no outdoor
One of the very few places Id recommend for desi, fresh and clean, friendly staff, good for both dine in and delivery.
Mrs DM & I had plans for Thyme with another couple but we decided we wanted something different so ventured to Taus.I had tried them out early on at their old location and it was good food so I didnt mind another try. The new location unlike the old one is much better located on Saba Avenue next to Broadway Pizza (where apparently Bloombury used to be).The decor is nicely done and I really like that it was well-lit and the wood work on the ceiling and the panelled shelf on the side were very chic.We started off with lassi (sweet for guys, salty for the ladies) which was well-beaten and just the right amount of sugar. It could have been a bit more chilled though and we asked for ice.Cheese Nans were good though it seems the cheese was not evenly distributed and 2 of 4 pieces were not cheesy enough. I got the cheesy part so no complaints .The Chicken Makhni was as good as it was the first time I ate at Taus though it is a heavy dish so be warned. I preferred plain naan with it though others had garlic nans. The mutton karahi was a flavorful offering with the right masala and good well-tendered boti.I was not too impressed by the aaloo parathas though I cant quite pinpoint the reason.Likewise I felt the beef bihari needed to be well more bihari. The matka kulfi was creamy and while it felt a bit smaller than what a growing boy like me wants, guess it was adequate to what I need… if you catch my drift! The green tea was a great cap to a wholesome meal with adrak to aid the digestion. The great part is the food didnt sit heavy in the stomach.Interesting fact I picked up…. The owners nickname is Tau (though hes a young chap in the mid-30s and not some moochar uncle). Unfortunately I forgot to pick up the copy of the bill but it was Rs 5600/- with tip.Definitely a place I would recommend.
The food was amazing. We started with the cheese and kabab naan, both were fresh and delicious. After this we ordered the biryani, chicken makhni, chops and the special platter. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. The staff was very professional and prompt. Highly recomend this place. Will be back.
After hearing a lot of hype around this place I gave this place a try. Went for the Sunday brunch, there were a lot of things. However 1000 rs + /person, I might think twice about coming again (brunch)
Food quality 5starsValue for money 5 starsVariety 4 starsAmbiance 4 starsQuantity 5 starsService 5 StarBeen in Karachi for a short trip, went to Kolachj yesterday and few friends recommended this place for desi food. Ordered Makhani Chicken Handi and mutton Karahi, with variety of BBQ followed by Qahwa. Truely amazing food experience. Lot of rush so suggest book in advance or reach before 8.
Excellent service. The food is excellent too. Offers a wide variety to suit everyone.
Best Pakistani restaurant in Karachi!
Liked the place. Tasty food. It could do with one more waiter as service was a little slow and waiters were a little frantic.
Very good food with a relatively small place. Recommended for BBQ AND KARHAI
Solid food. The lamb chops were mouth watering. The Nan was fresh and warm, and the karhai was also yummy. Actually we enjoyed everything we ordered. The downsides - come when you have time. Since everything is made fresh, the order can take a while. They also got our order wrong but were quick to fix (just delivered to the wrong table) and did not charge us for the extra garlic Nan they misdelivered. All in all, definitely Desi cusine that I will go back for.
Desi food in a continental ambiance. Taste and prices are not satisfactory.
Perfect getaway for some delicious desi food. Keep up the good work Tao
Excellent Pakistani food! Dont miss out on this restaurant.
Mutton karhai was excellent....! Very few places in Karachi do this dish well, amazing
Went for lunch and ordered Kabab Naan, Kabab Handi, beef bihari and chops. The Kabab Handi was smelly like they used rotten meat. We returned it immediately after tasting whereas rest of the food for average. Mint lemonade was off too. Not going again.
Bad service. Our server was forgetting our order and fries were really bad oily and soggy
Okayish food
Its a good place to visit if you like Desi food.
Basi preheated food with lots of spices, no sense of taste, served Memony Akhni on the name of Matka Biryani which was also tasteless, Chicken Malai Boti served in Taus special BBQ platter was rotten.
Most ordinary food. The beef bihari kabab was tasteless, the mutton karhai was ok. The daal makhni was bland... and without any makhan! And you shouldve seen the teeenyyy thing called matka kulfi!! Im NOT going there again!
Wierd ambience, very small and below average food
Extremely tasty food. They have a limited space so prior reservation is recommended. Staff is very courteous and they really treat you like their guests.
Every thing is awsome. Gr8 taste indeed. Highly recommended.
Good food, space is small and but prices are a bit on the high side in terms of desi food.but worth try
Good desi food like handis, bbq and others
Visited Taus for lunch. Really liked their kebab naan for starter and Chicken Makhni for main. Sweet lassi was good too. Only the mutton Biryani Handi missed the mark as it was too salty.
Best food but requires reservation .. suitable for families of max 12 person
Amazing food. Value for money
I didnt like the food. But everybody else liked it. Probably i dont have the taste flour this kind of food
Ok ha bs nothing extraordinary here.
Some place where every body who loves eating out should not go!

Nice location but food not good
Awesome food.Paneer Reshmi Handi & Makhni handi both are outstanding here.Bhindi Masala is really good.Palak Paneer is ok.Garlic naan used to awesome but now they are simply below average here.Have complained about it twice till now.Lets see what happens in my next visit there.Hope they take advice of customers and work upon it.
Excellent food, good service. The location on the map was wrong initially. Updated it. Its next to Broadway on Saba Avenue. Space is limited and so is staff but there wasnt too much of a wait, probably since the place is new. Sitting isnt too spacious either, so if youre not good with confined spaces, you might have a problem there. Tried the Mutton Karahi, Paneer Reshmi Handi and the Afghani boti. Meat was excellently cooked and flavours are really nice as well. Good quality food. Lassi was okay. Their chatni and raita were the cherry on top. A must try for sure
Spicy botis but service very good and overall food very good
Nice experience but there os always waiting
Absolutely pathetic service. Unprofessional. Hair in the Okra AND Mutton Karahi. Chef might be good, but the management is deplorable.
Excellent Food. Makhni handi and bhindi are amazing. A bit pricey though..
